Well, well, well. I had the pleasure of indulging in some Chinese cuisine at this establishment, and let me tell you folks, it's better than any Chinese food you'll find in those mundane malls around these parts. But don't get too excited just yet. Despite the small victory, it's still nothing to write home about. In fact, I'd even go as far as to say it's below-average real Chinese food.
The noodles were a disgrace, mushier than a banana left in the sun for too long. And the taste? Don't even get me started. The food was sweeter than a box of chocolates on Valentine's Day. Why oh why, do these so-called restaurateurs or cooks in Israel insist on adding sugar to every darn Chinese dish?
Now, let me reminisce on the good ol' days, back when I used to live in the US of A. I would venture down to China Town in Manhattan or any other authentic Chinese joint around the country, and let me tell you folks, that's the real deal. As someone who loves Chinese food, I can say with certainty that they have a long way to go to learn how to make real Chinese food here in Israel.
To the cook at this establishment, if you're listening, I have a little piece of advice for you. Maybe it's time for you to take a trip back to China to remind yourself how the food should taste. Because let me tell you, you seem to have forgotten along the way.
In summary, this restaurant may be a cut above the rest in Israeli malls, but it still has a long way to go before it can claim the title of authentic Chinese cuisine.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt's often a positive leading indicator of an ethnic eatery's quality when you see happy members of the restaurant's advertised ethnicity both serving and being served. Both were in abundance when I ate at The Chinese Wall. The restaurant serves authentically prepared Chinese fare and most of it seems quite good.
The duck was way better than "ok," as were the wanton and a huge serving of soup and a dessert platter of deep fried fruit.
A caution: The Schezuan beef is very good, but truly spicy. And the eggroll dough is quite heavy.
Service was cheerful and friendly and when we informed the waiter that one of our party had severe peanut allergies, he took care to warn us that some of the hot sauces served to other members of the party contained peanuts.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreFood was very good though very salty. I ordered a meal for two: The menu stated 2 soup, 2 appetizer. I thought this would included two small servings of soup as well as two separate appetizers. I was surprised that they only served one small soup with only one soup spoon (for two peopleā¦). Appetizer was small also. They did however serve two very large servings of the main entree. I donāt understand why they held back on being generous with providing two soups instead of just one and a bit more generous on the appetizer size. The āsaladā was mainly pickled lettuce.
I asked why did they serve only one soup when the menu clearly stated two: They answered that the menu had a āmistakeā in it⦠I wish they would honor the menu or cross out what they feel...
