We came to this place after seeing the positive reviews and we weren’t disappointed. Our Italian isn’t anywhere near perfect, but the manager was accommodating in speaking great English, made the effort to get to know us and even poked a bit of fun at our Italian. We loved the bruschetta and the pasta was al dente, just to our liking. At the end of the night, we couldn’t get a taxi back to where we were staying, so we went back to Gattobianco to see if he would know of any numbers we could call, instead he arranged a lift with a good friend of his and when he dropped us off he refused to take any of our money, even with our persistence. We went back on our last night to say thank you, and to try the bruschetta again, to see he was setting up instruments for his band to play. We were lucky to hear them practicing and when we walked past the restaurant later on after eating somewhere else, the band was in full swing and sounded amazing, he even noticed us walking past and waved goodbye. Primera vez, cenando, porque ya había estado para tomar un buen vino. La selección de vinos sicilianos es interesante y de calidad, con excelentes opciones y que todo el mundo puede permitirse. La comida, sin embargo, no la había probado aún. Buena sorpresa, ingredientes locales y sabrosos, porciones generosas, ideal para compartir entre amigos en un ambiente cuidado, limpio y algo coqueto. Localización excelente en el centro histórico y la parte más bonita de la ciudad de Acireale en provincia de Catania. El lugar es nuevo, cuidado en los detalles y si te toca una noche de música en vivo, aquí encontrarás entre los mejores músicos que actúan hoy en día en Catania y, más allá. Un lugar para ir en pareja, pero también para amigos o cenas familiares, yo diría que hasta de negocios no quedaría nada mal. En mi caso comimos un plato del día con scamorza, pancetta, recula y tomates cherry más otro tagliere mixto de jamón mortadella y quedo a sicilianos todos recién cortados y deliciosos. In un paesino ricco di locali rinomati è difficile poter trovare un modo per emergere. Ma c'è un ristorantino, molto modesto, che ha trovato il suo spazietto nel mio cuore. L'osteria Gattobianco è di proprietà del chitarrista dei Brigantini, un gruppo molto famoso a Catania e dintorni per le loro canzoni molto divertenti e coinvolgenti. Lo stesso pare abbia voluto creare un ambiente che riflettesse quello che un vero siciliano cerca: del buon cibo e della buona musica. L'arredamento quindi ha molti riferimenti a quest'ultima, come gli strumenti musicali che fungono da lampadario. Riguardo al cibo, beh, se avessi chiuso gli occhi potevo benissimo scambiare quei piatti così abbondanti con quelli cucinati dalla mia cara nonna. Che bontà! Anzi scusate.
