While the pizza was OK (dough was quite chewy, toppings were great) and the Spritz nice, the service was a huge disappointment. Didn't get any bread, which was OK. But It was impossible to get the attention of a waiter when we wanted to have a look at the desserts, so we abandoned that thought after a while. Further, it was also impossible to order the bill after we noticed that we might not get further food. We just kept waiting. After my gf went to the counter to ask for the check and after some ignoring her, she was told to wait at the table. And waiting is what we did. Again. When we finally got the check, it was presented to me, even though my girlfriend had her wallet out to pay. Hello, it's the 21st century. After a while again and some waiving to the waiters, someone came by for us to pay by card. But to top the previous, the machine was presented to me, even though my gf had the card out. After she presented the card to the machine, even the receipt was handed to my side of the table. All that while the waiters basically only spoke to me throughout our stay. Message from 21st century to this restaurant: women are equal people, and they are fully capable of paying bills. Maybe you should train your staff about that. Finally, it was very loud and the bright light was not creating a cozy atmosphere. Can't recommend nor will return, simply for the disrespecting of...
Read moreWe stumbled across this restaurant by chance as we walked into the town in the darkness from our hotel on a saturday evening in the fog along a crazy italian winding road. As we wandered pass we could see it was nearly brim full of locals. That was all the sign we wanted and headed inside. Wow. The atmosphere was amazing. There's two sides to this place, a takeaway counter on the right full of locals ordering pizza and the large busy restaurant on the left. We bagged one of the last tables. Along with pairs of local people dining the place was alive with several different large familes of adults and children of around 20 enjoying a saturday evening catch up over dinner. Not loud or intrusive over our own conversation. Just a splendid buzz of enjoyment. It was fabulous. The food, the waiting staff, the quick delivery of the freshly prepared plates made it an even better evening. We couldn't help but go back again a...
Read moreThe restaurant is a family owned place that offers a variety of local Italian cuisine. The ingredients for the food are from around the area. The mozarella for the pizza in fact is just been made a few houses down the road - everything is handcrafted - from the pizza to the lovely desserts that Giovanni's wife makes. The family is very friendly. You immediately feel like you have been to the place for years even though it is your first visit. We've been here several times during our stay and I can say for sure we've been up and down the menu - every dish is worth it. Be sure to check out Antonio's Whiskey collection and if you are there be sure to send our greetings to Giovanni, his wife and his family....
