You could do better pretty easily in Agrigento. Though the alleyway on the stairs is cute and quaint, there are a few no-go tables: ours was next to a couple of air conditioner fan units (enclosed in a cage) from where we enjoyed a steady stream of eau de mould with our meal. Also, the stairs being steep meant the waiters (who are really nice, to be honest, and obviously fit) are running up and down and so service is often slow and careless (I asked for a frittura with only calamari but got a regular frittura with shrimp as well). The polpo was terrible: seriously inedible, gummy, insipid. The frittura was pretty good. The octopus was very nicely cooked and the taste on the mashed potatoes was really well done. The Almond Parfait was really one to recommend together with a...

I then noticed one of the meats on the plate was mortadella with pistachios and when I brought it up to the waiter that there were nuts he was super dismissive and argumentative saying then 'they told me there's no nuts and so there's no nuts!'. He later came out to apologize saying that there were nuts in the mortadella. Im just lucky I knew what mortadella was.
Be super cautious if you have allergies here, because you can't trust...
