Yes this was a lovely authentic restaurant experience in Agrigento, I found this place by following some candles up a flight of stairs which led to a lovely courtyard where you can sit on warmer nights.
The night I visited it was quite chilly so I opted to sit inside which was a much wiser decision as it got quite chilly that night. I went for a mushroom risotto style dish which was nice but not the traditional risotto I was used to but was nice enough, I did ask for some Parmesan cheese which confused the waiter a bit but I ended up getting some and it made the dish a bit more like risotto that I was used to. I followed up with a second course which was a legume soup which was quite a large serving maybe a little bit too much, and I would strongly recommend adding some of the salt they offer with it if you want to bring out the flavour in the dish.
For dessert I ended up going for a chocolate cake which was nice enough.
Overall a lovely night and very lovely spot but I didn't enjoy the food as much as I would have hoped, but I would recommend you check this place out if you are...
Read moreI went here because of super high reviews… I wouldn’t recommend. The apetizers were not tasty, the parmigiana was tasting sour and so was the melted caccio cavalo (cheese). The price of the parmigiana was a lot for the quality and quantity (~13 eur)
To be fair out of 3 types of pasta we ordered, one was really good, the other two were fair good.
We also had the risotto Gorgonzola, it had only the aroma of gongonzola but not the taste, and the rice was really really overcooked.
The plate of mixed fish was okay, nothing much, but some fishes were burned and you couldn’t really taste them.
We did not order dessert - the wine was good. Overall it’s super overpriced for what you get (45 eur per person - including wine) you basically pay for the atmosphere - which is...
Read moreOur favourite meal in Sicily so far, loved it so much we went both nights we were in Agrigento!! Staff were lovely and very tolerant of our basic Italian. Over 2 nights we tried arancini, blue cheese and walnut risotto, tomato and seafood gnocchi, squid ink tagliolini with red prawn, veal with green pepper sauce, tiramisu and cannoli- all of which were incredible. Wines were very good, we particularly liked the Sicilian sparkling rosé. Beautiful setting in a courtyard just off the main street Via Atenea. Very reasonable prices for the quality. Grazie Mille, we...
