Jo'PIeR Ristorante Pizzeria — Restaurant in Alghero

Don’t Normally write bad reviews but I really think the restaurant needs it. 6 of us was dinning for dinner and the waitress was stood outside handing out menus so we decided to eat here. She told us everything was available on the menu and also freshly catch fish.

Wellllllllll once’s you were inside the place was massive and only us eating in there which wasn’t a good sign. We got drinks and then ordered our food which at this point was told that there was no pizza sold on a Sunday in the whole of the town.(first lie). At this point we should of walked out but no we decided to stay and order something different

We had steak that looked like it had been ran over by a double decker bus. My friend had paella which had mussels not opened, fish and prawns which smelt funky and tasted like they have been found in a swimming pool. Lucky there was enough peas and rice to feed an army. We also ordered the chicken cutlet for the kids and even this wasn't cooked nice. Did not look like chicken and was grey with half of bread crumbs missing were it was stuck to the pan. Felt bad giving it to the kids.

So overall it really was a disappointment and the food was not edible. We ate out everyday in different restaurants for the week and this was the only bad meal we had but was also the dearest meal we had.

Sadly our experience was not great. We were on time for our reservation and were seated immediately but the waiter was dismissive, brought us water and disappeared for about a half hour. The tables that arrived after us were all served immediately, drinking wine and eating. We were basically forgotten until we called the waiter over and he said, "oh, did you want some wine?" Our table was wobbly so I asked a different waiter to fix it. He said, oh be right back... never came back, never fixed it. My food was below average. My family members said their food was average. The positives were the following: the deserts were very good and the highlight of my lunch, the portions in general were abundant, the hostess was friendly and professional and the prices were basically on par with other restaurants. I would not say that the culinary level is very high nor the service / organisation (we got there at 1pm and left around 4:30pm) but the location is right in front of the port which is easy to get to (if you find parking). A man in front of a business is enticing everyone to visit their restaurant, even though the staff is completely unable to handle the number of guests. Everything takes way too long; there's a specific worker who has to come and take your order. It's all chaotic. After ordering and waiting for the food, we noticed that a lot of the meals being delivered were not what people had ordered or were incorrectly written down by the waiter. After an hour of waiting, we noticed that some customers who arrived after us already had their food, while others who had been there before us were still waiting. After another half hour, we asked the waiter if there was some problem with our food, since we had only ordered two servings of pasta, which shouldn't take so long to prepare. He merely responded that he would go check on it. After a total of 1 hour and 40 minutes, we decided to pay for our water and leave the restaurant.
