Ok Pizza Evolution - Ristorante Pizzeria — Restaurant in Alghero

We wanted great pizza and so we searched for and found OK Pizza. We thought it was funny that they would call it 'OK', because when we tasted their pizza, it was much better than okay. As a matter of fact, I would say it was the best pizza we had in Alghero. But, as much as taste is important, especially when it comes to European food, the overall experience is what counts and Massimo, the owner, was one of the most knowledgeable, gracious, genuine and personable hosts we've had the pleasure to meet. All OK Pizza does is pizza, that's it. And that's okay, because they do it right. I asked if I could have a salad and he just plainly said that pizza was all they made. He brought as a table wine that was so inexpensive that it wasn't worth mentioning, but was one of the best wines I had (next to my dad's of course, sorry dad). Everything he put on the table was made locally, something you can't boast about in Toronto, especially in the winter and spring months. I took my chances here without making reservations on a weekend and was initially discouraged because it was full. We ordered take out and took it back to our apartment. The staff were super super friendly and even made the effort to allow us to get take out dessert! They spoke to me in Italian to help me practice rather than immediately switching to English the moment they sensed my Italian was not fluent (which a lot of places do).
