Poco Loco Alghero — Restaurant in Alghero

We went to this restaurant because everything else was fully booked, this one was almost empty despite being huge, now I understand why. Ingredients quality is below expectation, cooking capability even less. I personally took a 700g steak, which I paid more than 50 euros. It was burned outside almost everywhere (meaning the meat was black and carbonized on the upper side), the cut was not linear, meaning it was thick near the bone and thin far from it, and this also influences the cooking, which cannot be the same everywhere, so my steak was rare as I asked close to the bone but very well done farer from it. The taste, in the end, was like the steak you buy at the cheapest supermarket: not juicy (of course also because of the cooking), like chewing-gum and neverending chewing. 50 euros wasted. The other people took different things, from mixed grill both meat and fish (both burned and carbonized, meaning the steak was not just a case), pizza, and other things, none of them was satisfied, not even children. Service was quite okish, but if you see a stage with instrumentation on it, you think someone is going to use it, but no, we checked online and music is only starting from winter, nothing in summer. This restaurant offers some good pizzas, though a few are quite unusual, such as the ones topped with chips or iceberg lettuce and black olives. The vegetarian options are limited, with only two choices available, and the Ortolana being the best among them. Our visit last year was fantastic, but this year the place was empty and the quality had noticeably declined.

Additionally, there's a cockroach that lives outside the restaurant and frequently makes an appearance. Unfortunately, during our visit, it fell from the ceiling onto my hair and back, which was extremely unpleasant. It's the place where you have to eat at least once, if you come to Alghero! We found them after receiving a recommendation from another restaurant (which I did not expect), telling us that they have the best pizza in Alghero. and yes, they do! Besides the experience of a huge pizza (pizza by the meter), they have many options (we tried the one with beef and the one with 7 types of cheese) and they were perfect. We returned to a new dinner where I ate the best grilled beef ever! The prices are ok, we spent max 30/person.
