I had initially wrote a review about the hotel 2 days ago which was about my overall experience in villa mosca but this additional review is about how they dealt with my review. Please READ VERY CAREFULLY and make sure never to choose this hotel if you want to spend beautiful vacations in Alghero. My initial review was very basic: the hotel is overpriced, staff barely understand a few english words and the breakfast is very limited. I wrote my review during my stay and I had one more night at the hotel. I went for the check out last night with my husband and 1 year old daughter. My daughter was standing on the table of the receptionist and barely put her hand on the computer. The staff there said aggressively: “no don’t touch”. I was quite shocked since she was barely even touching it from the back. I thought I did not understand since their english is so bad, but it turned out he was telling her not to touch anything. I said why are you being rude? She did not do anything to the computer. He replied it is our computer, not yours. And then added, I am being rude just like you were rude in your review. YES, this is how he dealt with my review, instead of discussing with me professionally about my experience here and how they could have made it better. So this is exactly what I told him, and he said your review is based on lies. I was stating facts in a nice way, the hotel is way worse than my initial review. I discussed professionally with him that the breakfast was indeed very poor with an extremely limited variety and that indeed staff do not understand english so it was extremely frustrating to speak to anyone there. He kept being rude stating that he speaks english (one out of all the staff). Then he added that we were rude during our stay. I was extremely shocked again and asked for clarifications: he answered that my daughter was playing with forks during breakfast and dirtying the high chair with yogurt. I was out of my mind here already and asked to talk to his superior and he was actually happy about it so clearly his manager/owner is even worse than him. I told him do u even have kids?? Do u know how babies eat?? Why don’t you say from the beginning that you are not a kids friendly hotel. His superior came and obviously he does not speak a word of english. The extremely rude staff (gabrielle) said he would translate, I said I did not trust him or his translation, he said he is the only one who speaks english - clearly contradicting what he had just told me about my review. You can imagine how frustrating it was that the only person who does understand english is this extremely disrespectful person who has 0 respect for customers. Anyway I called my friend who speaks Italian to translate and told gabrielle I did not need him here anymore, he said he doesn’t care about me or my daughter and that I am not his manager nor the one paying him so he can stay if he wants to. I cannot even express our frustration with the way we were treated, the manager clearly did not care about us and did not even ask gabrielle to apologize to us after all he had done. We did our check out and left the hotel this morning with extremely extremely EXTREMELY bad memories of our stay in villa mosca. What a bad hotel, what a bad customer service, I highly recommend not even visiting this hotel with such impolite staff working there. I keep bad memories of our whole stay in alghero because...
Read moreWe have just completed a wonderful stay at Villa Mosca located a few minutes walk from the lovely Alghero Old Town. |We chose to stay in one of the three small villas rather than in the main hotel itself. |Our villa was clean, spacious and had excellent air conditioning, much needed in the 30 degree plus heat. |Whilst the villa has a small kitchen, it is somewhat basic in terms of equipment, with no kettle, sharp food prep knife, basic cooking utensils eg slotted or wooden spoon and no area to actually prepare food. However we came away on holiday with a view to eating out most nights, so not a real big issue, more of an observation for possible improvements. |There is a beautiful infinity pool at the hotel and sun loungers surround pool. We tended not to use pool as we came to this beautiful island to see and use the crystal clear waters at the beaches. We visited 4 beaches and the village of Bosa using our hire car. Sunbeds and umbrella prices varied between €15 and €40 for 2 beds. |We chose not to swim in the sea near the hotel, as it was not as clean as other beaches. |On the odd occasion that we wanted to spend an hour by the pool at the end of the day, sadly there were not enough sunbeds around the pool for all hotel residents, however there were plenty of chairs and sofas in the beautiful grounds. |We ate in the old town on 5 occasions and food was good. However, for my vegetarian husband there was a more limited choice, which we expected, as a pescatarian myself, there was an abundance of choice! We ate in the hotel on one night and here the choice for vegetarians and vegans was the best we had found, with dishes that were thoughtful and a little different to the standard offerings found elsewhere in the old town. The dishes we ordered were excellent, the best we had all week. |Breakfast was included in our stay and this too was excellent, with plenty of choice for all dietary requirements. Rosa looking after the guests at breakfast in an attentive and friendly manner. |Finally and importantly the service and friendly nature of all the staff without exception was excellent, nothing was too much trouble. A very special mention must be about Frederico. Frederico is the epitome of top class hospitality and genuine friendliness. |Villa Mosca will not disappoint and we would have no hesitation in...
Read moreWow! …Villa Mosca is not just a hotel..it is an incredible experience and a privilege to stay here. Myself and my partner were lucky enough to stay here for 9 days and we both agreed that rather than a hotel it is better described as staying at a private villa with excellent staff who can not do enough for you. The location is just wonderful and the views are breath taking. We had a room in the main house with a side seat view, our room had lovely high ceiling the decor was authentic to the period of the beautiful house and the room with kept beautifully clean by housekeeping every day. Everything in the room is of the highest quality, towels , linen and products provided. The bed was just so comfortable. |On arrival we were greeted by Marco and for the duration of our stay he simply couldn’t do enough for us.Every day he would check in with us, arrange restaurant reservations, give us local knowledge and help out with any request big or small. Also we have to mention Frederico whose lovely warm, welcoming nature and personal service made our stay memorable, welcoming us back to the villa at the gates whether it was midnight or 2am, personal service of a different level. |We ate just once at the Villa and again experienced excellent food and wonderful service. Having pre dinner drinks at the villa is a must and watching the sunset is just spectacular.. it’s lovely that many people come and visit for drinks and to experience the sunset also., giving the place a lovely vibe at this time of the day. |Coco was very often our server of drinks at this time of day and her warm welcome and excellent service again was stand out for us. |Breakfast is another lovely occasion and the room it is served in is beautiful with stunning sea views. We were looked after every day by the lovely Rosa, again personal service with a smile and nothing was too much for her. |Our stay at Villa Mosca was truly an unforgettable experience and we feel truly lucky to have discovered this gem of a place . Each time we left and returned to the Villa we felt like royalty and this was down to the staff and the ambience of the place. We will definitely hope to return soon and would recommend to anyone 100%… you are in...
