Ristorante Pizzeria San Giovanni — Restaurant in Alghero

Hello .... This is my first time writing a review. On our first night in Alghero we were walking past this restaurant, and we were quickly greeted by a waiter who was quite friendly. As we were being seated, he made a point in letting us know that ALL of the pastas were homemade and they were prepared on site. We ordered a meat and cheese charcuterie board to share by the three of us as our apetizer. Our mains consisted of a Margherita pizza where we stressed to have extra Fresh Basil / Basilico, Penne and Salmon Pasta, and a Lobster Linguine. After approximately 15 minutes, we received the Margherita Pizza, which only contained cheese and no basil. In order to be called a margharita pizza, it should have basil on it. We never received our meat and cheese board, and at that point we no longer wanted it, so we said nothing to them about it not arriving. The pizza was eaten, and we continued to wait for the other main pasta plates to arrive. Approximately 3 tables were seated after us, and two of the tables were served their meals before us, one being a seafood platter for two. WOW !!! After a slight complaint from us were were told our other two mains would be out shortly. It took approximately 45 minutes for the 2 pasta plates to arrive. We are definitely not newbies to vacationing as we have been to many different parts all around the world. Needless to say, I did NOT enjoy my meal as the lobster was dry and a bit cold. The Salmon pasta was hard, way beyond el dente, and it barely had any salmon in it. When we asked the waiter for the bill he asked if something was wrong with my meal as the majority of it was left on the plate. I proceeded to give my opinion of the service and the quality of the food. The waiter told me it was because of the homemade pasta that our meals took so long. The pasta, in my opinion, was not homemade. I politely paid our bill of $65.00 Euro, and the waiter told me it was okay to pay $60.00 Euro. I wasn't looking for anything free. I would definitely not recommend...

The man was nice but very loud hunting for people to sit down. We've been encourage by his energy, but then really tired cos of him. Then we've ordered drink, they forgot about half of them. When we aksed about the drinks they said it's 40° and we need to be patient 😅

The place was pretty empty, so they're not very busy in our opinion. I have ordered grilled fish, I got deep fried or pan fried with huge shell of salt on it. It was so salty I couldn't eat it. I told them that this is too salty, even inside. Then they have been more rude, saying the chef is the best and they will bring without salt but if I dont like it it's my problem. We have been waiting for 40 minutes hungry. Then we asked for receipt and fish was there, while we're really tited of the whole place. They've asked us to pay for the fish, which didn't come, same as the fries and vegetables which we have ordered at the first place. Not recommending. This is my first time writing a review but the service was so exceptionally bad I felt I needed to. We are a family of 4, 2 adults, 2 kids. We ordered 4 dishes which included spaghetti bolognese by two and they came out with a penne and salmon dish by two in error. It is hard to mistake these 2 dishes but when we explained it was wrong, we had a waiter question us, even though it was obviously the waiters mistake. The food was nice, I will say that but obviously we had to wait for the correct dishes which was fine! The straw that broke the camels back though was that we ordered a tiramisu to finish and two came out . We explained we only ordered one and the waiter argued with us that we ordered two and then crushed a water bottle angrily in front of us. He walked away from us and the waitress, who we requested the bill from, then eye rolled us. I have never experienced such terrible service ever!!! Avoid by...
