We just came back from this place We even didn’t have a chance to eat the the food we sit down only for five minutes The point of disappointment for me and my husband was the owners behavior People politely stand out and waiting for him to get the permission to sit down on one of the table, which was not even clean from the previous customer All the tables was either not cleaned with the leftovers of spaghetti or occupied with the customers waiting for placing order As soon as the owner saw us react very aggressive infront of all costumers. I understood he might be behind We sat on a dirty table from previous costumer On meantime I talked to next table. A couple both with half plate remaining spaghetti. They were from poland and said spaghetti was good not exceptional Few minutes after the owner came out agitated with not friendly behavior and looked toward us and said he is behind and it takes one hour to take order from us I could wait 2 hours if just he was friendly He was not while it was 9:30 and he start at 8:20. So I can not even think he is tired. Point of disappointment For a person working only 6 hours per day it was truly disappointing to be rude to a costumer in front of others He can get 2 hour helps for cleaning of the table to be able to focus on cooking. If you are master of pasta, it is not smart to spend your time for anything else. As an owner of several food businesses including restaurants, cafe, markets, grocery stors, I belive he is going in wrong way. I wish I had a chance to test his cooking skills and also talk to him personally. My review is just based on his manner and management which is going in a wrong way Suggestions to improve Get part time help to clean tables Limit your tables in a numbers you can manage and make the waiting list for the rest Doing A to Z is not always an advantage. Prepare better during the day You should be fast to serve efficiently during 4 hours of rush hours of you work As a chef and restaurant owner I truly wish to give you a better review I hope my teview help your improvment and better...
Read moreIf you're in Ancona and craving good pasta and seafood, Spaghetteria N°9 is a place you won't forget – for more reasons than one. We stumbled upon this small spot hoping for a tasty meal, and what we got was not just great food, but also a whole experience.
The first surprise? It’s a one-man show. Literally. The same man is the cook, the waiter, and the owner – and somehow manages it all with surprising grace. As he buzzes between the kitchen and tables, you'll hear him singing to himself, chatting out loud, and making jokes while serving. It's eccentric, it's charming, and it gives the place a character you won't find anywhere else.
Inside, there are only 4-5 tables, so getting a seat is a bit of a gamble. We saw a few people being told to come back after an hour-long wait – definitely not ideal if you're in a hurry, but worth it if you're up for the experience.
Now, onto the food. The pasta portions are massive. I ordered the seafood spaghetti and was expecting a few more shrimps (only got one), but the flavors were spot on. Honestly, the serving could easily feed two people. We ended the meal with fresh tiramisu monoportions and were offered a shot of either limoncello or pistachio liqueur – a lovely touch to wrap up the evening.
Prices are on the higher end, especially compared to other spots in Ancona (pasta dishes run around €20), but given the portion size and the one-man effort behind everything, it can be justified.
All in all, Spaghetteria N°9 is not your average restaurant – it’s...
