Osti.Nati Fish & Wine — Restaurant in Ascoli Piceno

We went there and sat down at a small table that had food crumbs on it, with no tablecloth or even a paper one. Just a simple fork and knife wrapped in a paper napkin. When we opened the menu, nothing was below 15 euros, and main courses often cost more than 25 euros. I was a bit shocked. Given the simple dining setting and worrying hygiene, the menu prices seemed unjustified. So, I stood up and left.

Then we went to another restaurant with a view of one of the major piazzas (with seahorse fountains). The prices were much lower, and the food was very delicious. I guess the prices at local restaurants, in general, are not so...

Semplicemente e inaspettatamente uno dei pranzi più buoni di sempre!!

Io e il mio compagno abbiamo passato una giornata a Ascoli Piceno per turismo. Attratti dalle buone recensioni, ci siamo diretti verso questo locale. Si trova vicino a Piazza del Popolo, ma in una stradina un po' più appartata. Si presenta come un ristorantino con soli tre tavolini in terrazza, molto ben decorato.

Quando siamo arrivati non c'era nessuno e guardando la carta aveva prezzi un po' più alti di quelli visti in piazza. Pensando di prendere una fregatura, stavamo per andarcene; però ci ispirava molto e alla fine abbiamo deciso di restare. Meno male, visto che si è rivelato un pranzo eccezionale.

Il mio compagno ha preso un menù degustazione con due antipasti, due primi e dolce. Io ho preso una frittura, un primo e il dolce. Non c'è stato un solo piatto che abbassasse la media, tutto buonissimo, equilibrato, gustoso e con un bel impiattamento. Abbiamo bevuto due calici a testa per accompagnare le portate. In particolare mi è piaciuto molto il vino pecorino.

Il ragazzo che ci ha serviti, che immagino sia uno dei proprietari, è stato simpatico e estremamente competente; non si è negato a suggerimenti, quando richiesti, e a descrizioni dettagliate e colorite.

Abbiamo speso sui 40€ a testa, meritatissimi vista la qualità dei piatti e il vino.Quindi molto soddisfatta anche del rapporto qualità/prezzo.

Lucrezia the chef can prepare fish recipes that have surprised me with an attention to the details with the accurate use and respect for the ingredient resulting in a treat to your test buds.
