Pizzeria Ristorante Bar Bibiano — Restaurant in Assisi

Where do I start? I followed a sign that said “pizzeria.” I went down the stairs and opened the door. No greeter. No anybody. People were sitting at the tables, so I decided to wait it out. I chose my pizza. The waitress let us sit for about 15 minutes before coming to take our order drinks or food. My wife would like a glass of wine. I was promptly and rudely informed that their is no wine…… in Italy? Fine. I told her which pizza I wanted. Again, promptly and rudely made aware that they aren’t serving pizza right now in the PIZZERIA. Fine. We just decided to go with lasagna and water. Unfortunately, that sat me in a spot where I could see directly into the kitchen. The “chef” was maskless and gloveless. I watched him go from cutting raw pork to plating dishes to be served without any hand washing in between. I also saw that they seemed to be serving Barilla pasta. In Italy. So much for any hint of authenticity. They sell that stuff in my supermarket in Missouri. Lastly, and maybe the worst, my heart sank when I saw him pull our lasagna out of a microwave. It tasted exactly like microwaved lasagna, only worse. The bottom noodles were discolored. There were about six layers of pasta, and most of them didn’t have cheese, sauce or meat between them. There was hardly any cheese, meat or sauce as a matter of fact. Disappointing to be in Assisi at an Italian “Ristorante and Pizzeria” and receive a piece of lasagna that makes Olive Garden look like the gold standard. Avoid this place. They’re feeding tourists trash and laughing their way to the bank. In the waitress’s defense, she was the only one there. They were running her to death. Anyway, I just hope that I don’t get food poisoning to deal with for the rest of my trip. Negative 1...

Late night pizza run, server didn't speak much english but was very receptive and I got exsactly what I wanted. I posted a picture if their outdoor menu but inside their menu is even more expansive listing all the ingredients per item, super cute atmosphere very rustic woof fire oven visible from the dining, we got 4 cheese pizza plus sausage and it was the best crust in Italy of the eight different places I've had gone to very tasty toppings would get extra marinara sauce next time. When you see a place full of locals you know the prices must be good. We went downstairs and ordered a whole funghi pizza for €6 - we asked for olives as well and they didn't charge us extra! Later the lovely chef who wanted to go home waited 10 minutes for our 3 year old to use the toilet, haha! Pizza was huge and delicious and all staff were friendly and helpful. Highly...
