Visited this restaurant today for lunch based on the strength of the positive reviews on Google and the fact that a whole bunch of restaurants appear to be closed in Asti on Mondays (or at least don’t open until the evening).

Arrived early just after 12:30pm and there were plenty of tables outside. Service was friendly and both waiting staff spoke English which was great as I can only speak about 4 words of Italian.

Reviewed the main menu (in Italian) and couldn’t really work out what to have (there were a lot of burgers on the menu but I didn’t really fancy one) so asked the waitress for her recommendations from the specials board. On her advice I went for the asparagus pasta (farfalle) and the chicken thigh with paprika served with some veggies.

Pasta was good and al dente (just how I like it). The chicken was tasty but I did feel that the portion size was a bit miserly. One small chicken thigh isn’t a lot for a strapping lad like me who needed fuel in his belly for an afternoon of sightseeing. The vegetables were fine - not too exciting but how exciting can vegetables be to a non-vegetarian/vegan?!

Washed the food down with a blonde lager which was tasty.

All in it was €17.50 which seems reasonable to me.

So all in all pretty good. But maybe thrown in an extra chicken thigh next time (it’s pretty much the cheapest cut on a chicken and so I’m sure it won’t hurt your profits too much and will make sure your patrons leave happy with...

We came here hoping to get some risotto, but that wasn’t available for lunch so we ordered the Stefano hamburgers instead. Glad we did—they were delicious and flavorful. As Americans, we’ve had many burgers in our lives and we both agree that these burgers beat almost any burger we can get back in the States. Tender, well-seasoned beef, fresh buns & crispy bacon among all the other ingredients knocked these burgers out of the park. Oh—and ‘french fries’/potato chips were amazing!! Much better than the shoestring variety. The service was also very good, and attentive. She recommended a nice white wine to share and we enjoyed that as well (not too dry or fruity). We recommend eating here...
