Ca' Del Borgo — Restaurant in Bardolino

Don’t be fooled by looks alone. This is a character restaurant that looks to have a pleasing and romantic courtyard. Unfortunately that’s where it ends. While waiting for our drinks a lady on a nearby table sent her Lasagna back and when it came back to her she tried it and sent it back a 2nd time. I can see why my tuna arrived and was barely warm the side dish of roast potatoes were cold and looked like chunky chips. The Tuna was not seasoned. We had to ask 3 times to get the bottle of water we asked for. The price of the meal was higher than we had paid the night before for a more substantial meal that tasted so much better. I certainly won’t go back and now I think why 2 stars...

If your are on holiday as a solo traveller, don't expect to get a table in this restaurant. I asked if I could have a table for one and was told I had to wait for about 30 mins. Then a couple came and asked for a table, to which they were told the same. When a table became available the restaurant offered it to the couple and said I couldn't have the table as it seats three!!! But there were only 2 of them. And I arrived before them! The waiter did say it wasn't his choice it was the boss'. I argued my case but lost. I was humiliated and embarrassed. Never have I experienced such a thing. They will get their comeuppance I am...

En week-end en Italie avec des amis, nous cherchions de bonnes "pasta" dans le pays même de la "pasta". Nous nous installons sur une terrasse assez jolie et à moitié couverte, mais c’est là que les problèmes ont commencé…

Nous avons commandé des gnocchis, des lasagnes, des pâtes carbonara et des pâtes al ragù (ou devrais-je dire des pâtes aux égouts !). L’ensemble des plats était de mauvaise qualité, sans originalité, et les pâtes n’étaient clairement pas fraîches comme annoncé sur la carte.

La lasagne, par exemple, était totalement fade, sans viande, avec trop peu de sauce. C’était comme manger un empilement de feuilles sèches de lasagne, avec la sécheresse d’un désert entre chaque couche. En goûtant les plats de mes amis, ma déception n’a fait que grandir. Les pâtes carbonara étaient un véritable échec, tellement qu’il aurait été préférable de manger des pâtes sèches directement sorties du paquet. Quant aux gnocchis, ils ressemblaient à des boulettes informes et pâteuses, totalement immangeables et abandonnées au fond de l’assiette.

Le "meilleur" pour la fin : les pâtes al ragù de cerf, dont la viande semblait passée. La personne qui les a mangées n’a pas manqué d’arracher les chiottes, pour reprendre ses mots, dès notre arrivée à l'hôtel. Les bruits résonnent encore dans ma tête tant les bombardements étaient intenses.

Je déconseille vivement ce restaurant, et j’invite les propriétaires à revoir immédiatement leur chef. Ce genre de service ne devrait pas exister, ni pour les clients, ni pour l’image de la cuisine italienne. Une insulte à...
