Pizzeria i Mancini — Restaurant in Bari

Rude service at the beginning: We were a group of four and sat at a free table that had been indicated to us by the waiter. Shortly after, we were asked to get up so he could place napkins and cutlery. It was an awkward and disrespectful situation – it is unacceptable to invite customers to sit down and then make them get up just to place paper and cutlery, especially when the table wasn’t even wiped or otherwise prepared.

Disappointing 4 Formaggi pizza: The crust was brushed with lot tomato sauce and the cheese was quite underwhelming – mostly just mozzarella with a few pieces of gorgonzola and no distinct flavor. Overall, bland and unbalanced.

Service charge: At the end, we were charged €2.5 per person for table service – a common practice in Italy, but it was not clearly stated in advance.

Electric pizza oven: Unfortunately, the pizza is not baked in a wood-fired oven, but in an electric one, which affects the taste and texture of the crust.

Overall, it was a below-average experience, both in terms of hospitality and food quality. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic Italian...

The best restaurant in Bari!

My partner and I came with a list of recommendations from a friend and were largely underwhelmed. I had come across this place based on online reviews and was expecting decent, if not spectacular.

We were blown away.

The service was exceptional. We had no reservation and turned up to a full restaurant. The front of house advised us to come back in 15 minutes and he would have a table ready for us. We came back a little later than planned but our table was waiting ready for us.

Our server spoke flawless English and spoke to us about the history of the establishment. She gave us fantastic recommendations and was a delight throughout.

When the food came, it was spectacular. The best pizza I have ever had by a margin. Incredibly priced (I assume as it is situated away from Bari Vecchia) and far outstripping any other place we visited in the city.

It is no exaggeration to say this place gave me the best meal I have ever had. 10/10, 5 stars, A+... I wish I had more superlatives for them.

Would fly back to Bari...

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE. IN 20+ years of going to thousands of restaurants all over Italy and all over the world, I have never seen a worse or more bad tempered service. After 60 minutes of almost nothing happening and seeing how many unhappy customers there were, how many tables complained, how many dirty uncleared tables stacked up, how many couples got one meal but not the other, how many people said they had been waiting for over an hour with no food, we cit our losses and left. The woman running the place tonight was bad tempered and out of her depth, and the restaurant was stole money from customers who ate there tonight. Historically bad. My comment was about how rude the welcome was, how uncaring you were to your customers, how much contempt you had for them and how low your standards...
