Saint Patrick — Restaurant in Barletta

We visited this place twice. The man who showed us to our table was very kind both times. He was the only positive part of the service. First visit: We were sitting with empty glasses for almost 30 minutes, and no one came to ask if we needed anything else. In the end, we had to go to the bar ourselves to order more drinks, which felt strange—especially since other tables seemed to receive regular service. Second visit: We took a table outside and ordered a mojito from the menu, but they were out. We then ordered a salad (which was missing fennel), meat with grilled potatoes, and crêpes with ricotta and pumpkin—but they were also out of ricotta. The meat arrived. After my friend had already finished eating, (40 minutes) we asked the waiter about the rest of our order. She just said, “I’ll check.” Another 10 minutes later, the potatoes and “salad” finally arrived—without any apology. The “salad” turned out to be just a few lettuce leaves with four slices of orange and some olives. No dressing at all (check picture). To be fair, the meat and the crêpes (despite the missing ricotta) both tasted really good. But the service was terrible both times, and we truly felt ignored. A Sunday afternoon in Barletta. We're Canadians and were advised that this pub had a few screens to watch sports - so we made it our destination. The support staff is amazing but the top guy was very pushy. No menu was ever given to us but he advised us to have an antipasto plate - and some spaghetti. We said no to the pasta but okay to the plate of cheese and meats. The plate was enough to feed 4 people and the cost was 20 euros and along with it a plate of foccacia that we didn't ask for, which was only 3 euros. After 1 pint each of draft beer followed by a half pint we were full and ready to head home. Total bill for a mid day lunch was 38 euros. Pretty expensive from our...

“...naufraghi nell’infinito del tempo...” così ci si può definire quando, per la prima volta si entra in questo che non è un locale pubblico, men che meno un esercizio commerciale, ma uno scorcio culturale, uno spaccato di vissuto... Ad immagine e somiglianza di chi questo, non lo fa solo per lavoro, ma per dedizione e passione... Lo sentì già dalla voce di chi ti risponde al telefono per la prenotazione, lo vedi negli occhi di chi ti accoglie per accompagnarti al tavolo o nella scelta del tuo angolo preferito, nel calore di chi viene al tavolo non solo per il servizio... Una esperienza più che una serata dal punto di vista degli ospiti (e non solo clienti), una performance per il personale... ed in ogni caso si conclude con successo... vivendo davvero, nei colori, nei sapori, nei profumi, nell’atmosfera, il tuo IRISH.... Locale ottimamente condotto (Francesco Petruzzelli ed il suo collaboratore Giuseppe sono certamente professionali e professionisti, ma il sorriso e la gentilezza sono un valore aggiunto e fanno la differenza), pietanze di qualità, personale fantastico, igiene ampiamente curata, seguita e diffusa ad ogni angolo, dagli ambienti comuni, dal banco di mescita fino si servizi igienici, laddove anche le ceramiche e le indicazioni sono a tema... Situazione che, contestualizzata, si vivacizza appena in seconda serata con un afflusso di persone desiderose di stare bene, e al Saint Patrick si sta bene, grazie anche al buon Jazz servito dal vivo (e dove si trova più oggi come oggi....) Facilità di parcheggio appena fuori (necessariamente) dal centro storico, senza disdegnare due passi a piedi che aumentano le aspettative.... Bellissimo davvero, consigliatissimo... Io personalmente...
