Pizzeria Sapori del Sud — Restaurant in Bassano del Grappa

Two previous dinners at Pizzeria Sapori del Sud were simple and good: the pizza was satisfying and service was fine. We liked the restaurant for the good pizza and lack of pretension.

Last night marked a big change. My wife and I ordered a seasonal special pizza made with white asparagus. The pizza was a wet mess; the edge of the crust was crunchy, but the bottom was not.

And service was inadequate. Some 20 or more minutes elapsed between finishing our roasted vegetables, which were good, and the arrival of the pizza. No one stopped by to ask how were were doing with the wait nor to explain it. I observed people at other tables also looking around impatiently while waiting for their meals. Few people were in the restaurant - not surprising for a Sunday night - so it would be hard to blame the delay on the number of diners.

We're writing off Pizzeria Sapori del Sud. There are plenty of simple pizza restaurants in Bassano; why go to one that neither delivers excellent food...

extremely rude hostess at the bar who for a group of nine of us with children She did not allow the tables to join but gave us two separate tables on the terrace even though she had larger free tables under the supposed reservation which were not filled even at the time we left the restaurant. all the time they behaved extremely unpleasant and the staff who don't know anything in english a very unpleasant and bad experience food good cannoli we ordered five they brought on two plates when we asked for more plates they rolled their eyes and brought another plate for all of us. I think if we have the chance we will never repeat...

Dopo averne sentito parlare bene da amici ed anche dalla recensioni presenti su TripAdvisor abbiamo deciso di recarci a cenare un sabato sera. Chiunque consiglia di prenotare parecchi giorni prima nel caso in cui siate numerosi, ma anche essendo in 4 siamo stati fortunati a trovare l'ultimo tavolo disponibile per il primo turno dalle 19 alle 21.30, altrimenti c'era più disponibilità per il secondo turno, dalle 22.30 in poi. L'ambiente è molto curato, ed ho apprezzato molto che non appena si entra i pizzaioli ed il forno a legna siano in bella vista, anche se questo fa venire già l'acquolina in bocca. Siamo stati subito fatti accomodare ed abbiamo ordinato pizze e bibite molto velocemente, ben organizzati nella gestione degli ordini e dei tavoli prenotati o disponibili. L'ambiente è molto bello e curato, meravigliose le foto/quadri appese sulle pareti. L'attesa per le pizze non è stata per niente lunga, nonostante il locale fosse praticamente pieno sia all'esterno che all'interno. Non aspettatevi la classica pizza che si mangia di solito, qui è tutta un'altra storia. La pizza è ben farcita, i bordi sono alti, il pomodoro e la mozzarella sono qualcosa di spettacolare. Abbiamo preso una pizza con prosciutto crudo, una con mozzarella di bufala, una con verdure grigliate ed una margherita, tutto sublime, gli ingredienti che utilizzano sono senza dubbio di altissima qualità. Non ho mai mangiato la VERA pizza napoletana, purtroppo, ma questa, penso ci si avvicina molto. Il prezzo delle pizze, oltretutto, è assolutamente nella media; per niente esagerato. Che dire, delle cose buone ci si abitua facilmente e penso che mi sarà difficile apprezzare così altre pizze. Vi consiglio la Pizzeria Partenope senza alcun dubbio, ma come tutti vi consiglio di prenotare abbastanza...
