I recently visited Vox Bar and Lounge Bergamo with my husband, the main appeal was that it was open and next to our hotel. We were both knackered from travelling and it was only 6pm, so not many places were open yet. The atmosphere was lively and trendy, with music playing in the background and a friendly staff that made us feel welcome.
We started our meal with a delicious appetiser, the asparagus tarte with pecorino cream. The dish was beautifully presented and tasted nice, with a good balance of flavours. It was the perfect start to our meal.
For our main course, I ordered the traditional stuffed ravioli with butter and sage, while my husband opted for the carbonara. Both dishes were excellent! The ravioli was perfectly cooked, and the stuffing was flavorful and delicious. The butter and sage sauce perfectly complemented the dish, creating a rich and creamy flavour. My husband's carbonara was equally delicious, with the perfect balance of pasta, bacon, and egg.
Overall, our experience at Vox Bar and Lounge Bergamo was a nice start to our trip. The food was good, the atmosphere was lively with a good mix of nationalities, and the staff were friendly and attentive. We would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a convenient...
Read moreWhere to start ... Well, maybe with the service here. Our waiter seemed to be more interested in talking with some girls nearby and we acctualy had to ask him to give us a change after apx. 10min of waiting. Another issue there is food. My friend had a lasgna and that was quite good but I ordered pizza. I was quite excited to get original and tastfull Italian quattro formaggi. I thought it's gonna be something like the absolute great dish I had some time ago in Naples. Boy I was wrong... I honestly think that frozen pizzas which you can buy in every supermarket are as good as the one I had there. Maybe even better. Tje place was realy bad as well, tho you can argue here that everybody has it's own taste. But sitting right in the middle of a busy street and looking at passing cars is really not that great. Maybe it's not that I absolutly hate this place but the disapointment is the worst. You expect decent Italian cuisine and good stuff but in the return you are provided with mediocre pizza, that you basicaly can buy anywhere in the world and your waiter does not even care enough to give you your change back. For the first time in a very long period I didn't left any tips and I would not change my decision. I do not...
Read moreThey overbook themselves despite clearly lacking staff. Took 20 minutes to order, and another half hour to get appetizers that were also served several minutes apart for different guests. Waitress was seemingly doing her best and was initially nice but when she served dry pasta that had clearly not been cooked enough (it was so hard it was hard to pierce with the fork) she claimed it was al dente and that's how they eat pasta in Italy. As if I hadn't eaten proper pasta 10+ times in Italy before without it ever being that hard. She clearly didn't taste this pasta herself. At least she took it back and had it re-done, but again claiming that it was because it wasn't to our liking, not that it wasn't done correctly. Took us 2.5 hours to eat an appetizer and a main and they kept seating more people throughout the dinner despite everything. All in all, there are much better dinner...
