Bar Maurizio — Restaurant in Bologna

Stopped by daily while staying at an Airbnb in Bologna! Order your cappuccino or americano, grab a pastry or one of Maurizio's buonissimo sandwiches heated up. Sit back and just watch the action for 45 minutes. I liked getting an americano and asking for "latte freddo" aka cold milk on the side. If you do not get a table right away, people come in and out frequently so just wait 5 minutes.

Maurizio is an incredible business owner - hospitable and charming. He came around the front of the counter to help us order with broken Italian. He does make homemade hot pasta at a certain time every day (I think 5pm) ... so...

One star because the young guy working there is not very nice/friendly. Very rude. You can read similar reviews like this one where they just assume you can't speak any Italian and eventually treat you bad. The bartender basically THREW the 50-cent coin to me at the bar as my change. Never going back because of this kind of treatment. I doubt the owners will ever read this, but that's what's tragic about some of these places—they will not improve. If you ever read this, please take care to hire nicer...

Not my favorite place in town but this place aggregates the most different crowds from students to professional and artists. Is often packed with people outside since the inside is quite small. The owner is very friendly drinks are cheap and good and atmosphere is vaguely jazz ish with posters and photos. It is a very popular so if you re into this sort of places u have to check it out.
