Located in a historic 17th-century palace, this beautiful museum offers an intimate glimpse into Bologna’s artistic and cultural heritage. It houses a wonderful collection of Bolognese paintings, antiques, and lifestyle items, from the 13th to the 18th centuries, showcasing works by renowned artists like the Carracci brothers and Giuseppe Maria Crespi.
One of the museum’s unique features is its collection of antique furniture and domestic objects, all meticulously preserved. Also, the wooden sculptures and marionettes from the 18th and 19th centuries are particularly charming, giving a glimpse into past forms of entertainment and craftsmanship. The museum also includes beautiful examples of majolica ceramics, a hallmark of Italian decorative arts.

It’s a must-visit for anyone curious about Bologna’s rich cultural heritage, providing a quiet and enriching escape from the city’s more bustling...

The only flaw is the lack of item descriptions in English. It is minor though because of the "MuseOn" application which offers details in many languages. Just ask the reception desk and...

I think they could have just told me that they were...
