There are two distinct locations - the restaurant and the hotel.
We experienced both.
The hotel was small but well kept. Three rooms total. Our little room (Turrita) had a queen bed, couch, bathroom and closet space. The light was out in the bathroom the first two nights, but when mentioned they fixed it immediately. Then, it stayed on all night. No wonder it burns out…
The staff was very friendly.
There are NO USB plugs in the room anywhere. Please come prepared. Our little converter to USB made our phones charge at a crawl.
There are a lot of stairs (about two flights worth) to get to the rooms.
Overall, a lovely stay in a very walkable place.
Onto the restaurant.
The first night there were no openings (make a reservation). We came back on a Monday night and were seated in the back room. The ambience was lovely. They start you with bread and a little hummus dip.
The beef tartare was phenomenal. Tender and well plated. The pork Cheek was cooked perfectly. The linguine was al dente and the tomatoes had a ton of flavor. The wine Negroni was beautifully prepared. I ordered a vodka martini (specifically asked for vodka - not just “martini”) and they brought me gin - they fixed it quickly.
The price was decent for an upscale experience. The location could not be better located so close to the city center.
The menu is limited so check it in advance to make sure you have an option you can enjoy.
Highly recommend both locations. Come to stay and enjoy a lovely meal downstairs. It’s a great place to have both regardless of...
Read moreWe reserved a table for an early dinner, also asked to come with our 1 year old and they complied with our request. Cocktails were perfect!!! Balanced, tasty and original, I recommend getting a "mule" just so you can sample their amazing ginger beer at work. We ordered dinner as well - everything we had was well executed, generous and delicious - from a borata crustini starter, gaspacho and bread on the house, to their tuna tartar, their aged rib eye steak and gentle yet masterful tortellini - we really enjoyed every bite. They were extremely accommodating to our 1 year old, going so far as to set her table and give her her own glass, we later got her her own "drink" (apricot juice), which she absolutely loved. I really couldn't recommend this place more, we'll be sure to check in to the hotel next time...
Read moreThis was a very welcome surprise. I have been to Bologna many times and this is the first time I have gone to this restaurant despite walking past it several times. I was looking for a nice fish meal and also saw prior to going they had a nice wine list.
I ate three fish courses starting with salmon tartare with aromatic fish broth which was served with a nice loaf of hot bread. The first course was risotto served with raw fish (ombrina). This presentation was superb. It started with the fish in two small rows with the rest of the base on plate and risotto spooned over top. The risotto was brought the table in a small copper pot. Last was calamari served over mashed potatoes with olives and sun dried tomatoes.
With this lovely meal I drank a bottle of 2018 Chablis...
