Il Pirata del Porto — Restaurant in Bologna

Came here last night on our trip in Bologna.

Very local feel, nothing fancy or the like. They serve all sorts, from pizza to meat to seafood. We ordered the chicken salad, fries, and steamed cod with polenta.

Unfortunately the staff made a mistake initially and took the wrong fish order and brought over a mussel pasta dish, but after explaining they resolved the issue within minutes and we had our fish we ordered.

My friends and I, on our trip to Bologna, visited the restaurant 3 times. The atmosphere, the food and the service won our impressions immediately. We realized that our whole life in our country was a lie as we learned from Piratas what Italian cuisine really means. When the restaurants in the center were full of queues and inferior quality, or even when the rest were closed, the pirate of our heart was always there the serve us the best dishes in town. From now on you ll be «il pirata del nostro cuore» for us!...

We were staying nearby and decided to drop in for lunch. It turned out to be one of the best meals we had in Bologna. The pizza in particular was fantastic. Pastas were cooked well and were delicious. We felt a little rushed to leave as the server kept removing things from our table that we weren't finished with (it was toward the end of the lunch hours, so not a big deal).
