La Porta Restaurant — Restaurant in Bologna

We had dinner at la Porta, me and my girlfriend on the 10th of May. The entire experience was beyond excellent. The service, the atmosphere and the food were just excellent. After walking around Bologna and trying out different places for lunch and dinner, it was a breath of fresh air to come to a place with somehow, the same prices as most restaurants and trattorias in the city and yet such a vastly different quality. The mediterranean tasting menu we had was incredible. The staff was extremely helpful when asking about allergies and choices about the menus. It is definetely one of the best restaurants I have ever been to and I would advise it above any other place in Bologna. Especially considering that you end up paying almost the same prices if not more in the Restaurants and trattorias near the tourist areas for food that albeit good is not at all comparable to what we got...

One of our favorite restaurants on our trip to Italy. The restaurant is beautiful inside. We did the "Flavors of Tradition" tasting menu, with the highlights being the pig and lasagna. The bread was amazing, house made sourdough and tomato sourdough were supreme. We also ordered the smoked onion appetizer and that may have been the best bite of the night. The staff was amazing as well, and although English was not their first language, they all did an amazing job accommodating us and explaining each of the courses. A lovely experience that I recommend to anyone...

an excellent dinner alone here. staff were very attentive, and the food was incredibly unique from a great trio of crudo, excellent pasta and surprising dessert. i was sad initially i couldn't order a tasting menu as its for a min of 2 persons, but with the amuse bouche, palate cleansers and post-dessert dolci, i waddled out of there happily content. ordered wine by the glass, which they had plenty. also browsed the extensive wine list with a great and deep mix at really great prices. i hope to return next time...
