We had an amaaaazing dinner at this place, words literally cannot describe! We made a reservation through Google for 7PM when they were opening and at that time only other foreigners were sitting around. Later during the evening it got filled up with locals! We were seated outside, but the road never got busy enough to bother us so it was perfectly OK. We ordered the Bolognese tagliatelle and tortellini in broth, skipping the appetizers because we thought it'll be too much food. However, it was so amazing and delicious that everything went down in minutes and we were left asking ourselves, what shall we eat next? So then we ordered the cottoletta bolognese and the truffle tortellini. Again, those were amazing too. Needless to say, we were sipping a great bottle of red wine throughout the night. We wanted to finish it all off with some nice dessert, so we ordered the semifredo. And then we were thinking... Why not try again the tortellini in broth? At that point we were literally laughing out loud with the waitor, and I swear we never eat this much, but GOSH the food was amazing and we simply couldn't resist! Also, we stayed only one night in Bologna, so hey, why not. So we finished the dinner with another plate of tagliatelle and some very nice, herby digestives. Overall, I cannot recommend this place enough!! The food, the service - all absolutely immaculate. Our server shared tons of interesting fun facts about the dishes we tried so it was a truly enriching experience. Next time we're in Bologna, we're coming...

We booked a reservation last minute and got a wonderful table. The waitstaff was incredible—friendly but deferential, helpfully present with advice but never hovering. The setting was also beautiful and cozy.
But the food—the food was simply amazing. I wish I had pictures—it was gorgeous—but we were enjoying the meal too much to think of pictures. We started with the tagliere, which was very good, especially the pickled vegetables that accompanied it and the mortadella.
The tagliatelle with ragu was the best I’ve ever had. The tortellini in brodo was also spectacular.
But the star of the show was the stinco di maiale. Even my wife, who does not typically enjoy pork as much as I do, raved about this dish. Just absolutely fantastic.
We had a half bottle of the house wine (the lighter red on offer); also delicious. We finished with tiramisu and a torta di riso; though neither of us are usually huge sweet eaters, I recommend both in this case. The grappa was very good, but my wife enjoyed her Amaro so much she forgot to let me taste it (again, rare for her).
All in all, this was the best meal we had on our trip and probably among the top ten of my life (and...
Read moreWe knew from the moment we sat down that this place would be good. It was on a quiet street, there were Italians at the table beside us and there was no English on the menu. While we ate outside, the inside of the place was also small and warm. I ordered the Bolognese classic, tortelloni (tortelloni di ricotta al pomodoro e basilico). This dish got me hooked on tortelloni and on Bologna’s renowned food in general. It reminded me a little bit of Italian cooking in the U.S, just a thousand times better with quality ingredients. I also loved dipping the hard bread into my red sauce like a real local. I then ordered a secondi: Tagliata di filatto con funghi e Parmigano. I hadn’t yet come across a waiter who asked how we wanted our meat cooked, so I was pleased by a perfectly medium rare steak. It is not surprising to me that they knew their way around a steak being from Emiglia-Romana, as meaty flavors are a staple. My secondi was equally as amazing as the pasta, which is something you don’t always find. I left so happy and full, but not TOO full. Highly recommended for a cozy, non-flashy,...
