Officine Degli Apuli — Restaurant in Bologna

If you go not that far from city center and get to what you feel is a normal neighborhood, you find this amazing place. Nothing will prepare you for what you can experience, the moment you see it from the street or enter. People think good needs to be complicated or fancy or expensive. Well, at Officine you will experience great great food, an amazing service (I had my forked falling on the floor and by the time I picked it up, the waiter was already at my table with another one. Not because I was slow picking it up, but they are all very attentive. And the food? The food… the best thing you can do is fast for a full day and then go to Officine and enjoy the menu… have no better way of saying it. And great food can or should be only enjoyed with great wine. You have enough to chose from so do not be worried. A place in Bologna that may not be in your usual main street location, but is beyond what other Main Street places can...

Just tried again after a few years (maybe... 2019? I don't remember), it didn't disappoint me. When I go back to one of my favourite places in Bologna centre after a while , I am a little afraid, as there might have been changes in the staff, the chefs or the management... or simply beacuse my town has become a tourist top destination.... On the contrary: I found the Apuli even improved to some extent. Unlike most pizzerias, the service is professional and the atmosphere is nice (not noisy!). I would add a special rating for quality of pizza pastry and of ingredients fro pzza toppings, such as fiordilatte, mozzarella, stracciatella, tomato, and other produces really from Puglia. I specially find the 'Faetana' amazing (from prosciutto di Faeto, small village in Foggia province - delicious). Riprovato dopo diversi anni, sempre una certezza. Piacevolissimo. Menzione speciale per la pasta e gli ingredienti...

I was with my friend, taking dinner. The food was amazing, friendly staff members, but next to us sit two Italian men. They came after us, and chose to sit next to us.

After 20 minutes, looking very insistent to us, one of us started to ask me where I got tanned, and for a couple of times invited us to drinks after, and to eat ice cream with them. Have to mention he was married (wearing a wedding band), saying he works in the hotel industry. Next to him, it was his lawyer.

This interrogation took a while, even if we tried to avoid questions and to cut it. Overall, I didn’t feel safe having dinner there. These two men were friends with the owner. Even when we asked for the check, he still was trying to convince to drive us to a bar after.

While we were paying, one of the staff members asked us if the men annoyed us. I agreed, but he laughed about it.
