Just sat down to grub on a pizza at this fine establishment. I walked in without a reservation, and the kind gentleman who greeted me was very courteous. I'll get his name shortly. I've ordered a "Diavola," which is a spicey approach to a traditional pizza staple. Having experience rug burning hot in the culinary world, I'd say this is as mild as it gets. That said, it is a very tasty pizza! The atmosphere is very inviting, a good change from the quick "street" pizza around town. After a long day walking, this was such a pleasure. As soon as I get a chance, I'll get the gentleman's name................... ok, Antonino is the gentleman's name. I sincerely hope his manager hears of or reads this review. My compliments to him and his fine employee Antonino. Now, back to the pizza. With the right amount of olive oil to add at my discretion, this pizza graduated to a new level inside of 10 minutes. It was brought to me freshly made and hot. The dough is as i would have expected, soft enough in the cradle but crunchy enough on it perimeter. Well done friends! I will highly recommend this place if you want to sit and relax with good jazz playing in the background. Also, don't do as i did. Make a reservation as this place has gotten full since I came in. But wait, there's more.............. I see tiramisu on the menu. Stay tuned......... Ok, just as I suspected it's amazing! Although the portion is just a tad smaller than some of the other eateries I've visited, it has a perfect amount of creaminess and is not overly done with amaretto or powdered sugar. Everything is perfectly proportioned. Ok, they earn top stars from me. I hope this helps others decide to dine hear. And another great big thank you to Antonino! for allowing me a table when he really...
Read moreAh, the promise of fine dining in Bologna – dim lights, minimalist plating, and the heavy scent of pretension in the air. This restaurant clearly aspires to be the crown jewel of culinary sophistication. Lots of ambiance, lots of carefully curated details, lots of… O&M. What it’s missing? Well, mostly flavor. And warmth. And value.
Let’s start with the food. The pizza arrived looking like it had just come from a photoshoot for Artisanal Quarterly – abstract toppings arranged like edible modern art. Shame the taste didn’t match the effort. The dough had the delightful texture of last week’s gym mat, and the toppings, while quirky and “elevated,” didn’t actually work together. A case of too many ideas, too little coherence.
The Caesar salad was a masterclass in blandness – no dressing to speak of, no seasoning, just sad lettuce and a dream. And the spaghetti with salmon? Bold move to serve cream with a side of noodles and call it a fish dish. If there was salmon in there, it had either disintegrated or gone into hiding.
Then there’s the service, which really ties the whole experience together like a cold handshake at a job interview. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with the kind of glare that suggests we had personally offended someone’s ancestors by daring to show up post-walk. The owner himself seemed to weigh our worthiness at the door and only begrudgingly allowed us entry. Hospitality, but make it hostile.
All in all, this place is perfect if you’re in the mood to feel slightly judged, modestly fed, and significantly...

The interior is beautifully decorated, providing a quiet and cozy ambiance—perfect for a relaxed meal. Due to its popularity, it’s advisable to book a table in advance.
During our visit, we arrived without a reservation and were seated outside, which turned out to be just as enjoyable. The service was attentive, and the food did not disappoint. We started with a generous platter of cold cuts and cheeses, accompanied by warm, homemade focaccia—a delicious introduction. For the main course, we each ordered a pizza. The portions were more than satisfying, and the quality was excellent. The dough was light and flavorful, and the ingredients were clearly fresh.
Among the pizzas, the Piemontese—with tartare and truffle—was rich and unique, but the real standout was the "Pistacciosa." Simple yet perfectly balanced, it surpassed expectations and left a lasting impression. We left feeling full and happy, and would definitely recommend Gallery Pizzart to anyone visiting Bologna for great food in a...
