I have traveled all over the world, dined at every type of restaurant from small to large, inexpensive to expensive, simple to complex, zero to 3 Michelin stars. I never imagined one of the best meals I would have in my life so far would come from a business trip to Bologna, Italy, but here I am. Trattoria Battibecco is a phenomenal restaurant and Chef Nico Costa is a master of his craft. A simple dressed salad studded with julienned root vegetables and a simple dressing got our evening off to a nice start. The fusilli with sautéed bacon and onion was absolutely delicious, the pasta cooked a perfect al dente. The beef filet rolled in puff pastry was simply incredible. Their menu options have no connection to Bolognese cuisine nor that of Emilia-Romagna. Due to their misguided soul they have a heavy emphasis on fish. To top of it all off you’re seated on a somewhat charming street across from a noisy kitchen and trash cans.
I wouldn’t eat here again, there’s many more interesting and delicious...
Read moreAbsolutely a fantastic find and recommendation by our hotel.
We sat indoors, but you can do either. They were a bit slow to initially serve us, but once we got going they were very efficient.
The food was too notch. The lamb was perfectly cooked and a great choice.
