Wiener Haus — Restaurant in Bologna

We came here for dinner without a reservation and it was no problem at all. We had to change tables because of disruption behind me, and again, no problem at all. The food was good and the service was nice. We would have given 5 stars if it wasn't for the guy behind the bar/payment area who scowled at me for asking if we could pay our bill quickly and go. He was busy, we understand that, and he wouldn't have known, of course, that I was exhausted and barely able to stand, and needed to get out of there before I literally fell over. But he kept us waiting, and waiting, until he'd fulfilled orders for several trays of drinks. I simply asked if we could please pay our bill, and he told me to wait, and then took payment, with a dirty look. No smile or a thank-you. Luckily everyone else was kind, respectful and cheerful. That guy clearly hasn't learned enough about customer service, and it's a real shame that ended up being the impression...

My experience was not a good one! After I gave my order of the chicken I fries, my food shows up about 10 minutes and the chicken looks like chicken recook from 4 or 5 days ago and not well cooked. I tried order some tiramsu for dessert, only to wait for about 15 minutes. Now, keep in mind that there were me and another 2 couples in the place. They had about 3 waitresses at the time. Back to the tiramsu, it was sponge and tasted awful! Please keep in mind that I am a person who doesn't get on any type of media and bash people because I understand that this is their way of life but I can't ignore the fact when the food is not prepared right. The customer has every right to complain. After all, if it wasn't for the customers, many many businesses would not exist. Food posion is real and any uncooked chicken can lead to serious issues. I hope that the owner will take a closer look at his kitchen staff and...

We are Canadian tourists and only speak English. When ordering we pointed to the exact items we wanted and did our best to read the Italian explaining we didn’t speak Italian, The waiter responded in only Italian speaking very fast and quietly in the loud restaurant and seemed frustrated with us instead of sending someone who could better communicate. We proceeded to wait 40 minutes for our drinks (a beer and a water) and I had to flag down another server to get them for us…. then waited another 25 minutes beyond that for our food. The meal was okay but service was horrible and slow. Wouldn’t eat here again as it was expensive and 30 minutes into the wait we almost walked out however felt bad and just waited through it.
