Ristorante Pizzeria La Piazzetta Nuova gestione — Restaurant in Bordighera

This used to be our "go to" restaurant, walking distance from our house. It was simple, cheap, and reliable. Recently it re-opened under new management and we were very disappointed. The price was higher by 30-40%, slow service, and most importantly they were not selling house wine by 0.25 or 0.5 liter carafe. It used to be 6 euros for 0.5 liter house wine. Now, they serve bottles of "house wine" at 14 euros for 0.75 liter. No mezzo litro anymore.. Spaghetti frutti di mare was 18 euros (used to be 13 euros) and mediocre at best (mussels were about to go bad). 1 liter water was 3.5 euros. What happened to our neighborhood local restaurant? Perhaps they can have good business with tourists but I cannot imagine any locals going there. You can have more sophisticated great food at similar or cheaper price at nearby La Gritta! I miss the old restaurant. PS. The pizza we had (Bufala) was good...

You wouldn't think that a pizzeria at the most touristy spot in the old town of Bordighera would be good...but it's not just good, it's outrageously good. I have worked and travelled all over Italy for more than 20 years and THIS is the pizza of my dreams. My husband and I ate twice there with four different pizzas that were so amazing, we were happy to bring the leftovers back to our hotel to eat cold for a midnight snack. Habe heute mal wieder die neapolitanische Pizza probiert ( mit softem dicken Rand ) . Wird einfach nicht meine Lieblingspizza. Alles soll seine Daseinsberechtigung haben , aber dieser dicke Rand und ich werden keine Freunde. Zumindest sollte dann der " belegte dünne Innenbereich " geschmackvoller sein. Leider war weder der Teig an sich noch der Tomatensugo besonders italienisch. Das liegt beim Teig einfach am Industrie- Mehl , welches nach nichts besonderem schmeckt noch an der Qualität des Tomatensugo , der ebenfalls etwas fad daher kommt. Natürlich alles in allem keine schlechte Pizza , aber auch keine , an die ich am nächsten Tag noch positiv denke. Eher 08/15. Kann man aber besser machen mit den entsprechenden besseren Produkten. Die Pizza mit Zucchini Creme , Orangencreme, Walnüssen, Mozarella und Panchetta war unglaublich schwer , hatten das Gefühl, 4000 Kalorien in der Pizza zu haben. Die Neapolitana war besser , aber sehr salzig durch Oliven und Sardellen. Allerdings eben wid oben erwähnt Tomatensugo langweilig. Was allerdings ein absolutes Highlight war , war die Vorspeise : Ich hab das schon mal in Hinterland von San Remo gegessen : dünne gegrillte Lamm- Spieße, sind 12 Stück. Heissen " Rostelle " . Hervorragende Fleischqualität , einfach purer gegrillter Lammgeschmack . Also , der Service war sehr gut übrigens. Probiert es aus , wenn ihr auf neapolitanische Pizzen steht , ansonsten kein Highlight, aber auch kein Reinfall . Für mich ein bisschen ne...
