Magiargè - Osteria Contemporanea — Restaurant in Bordighera

Instead of getting a cheaper bottle of white wine we decided to get a more expensive bottle of white wine at twice the price that our friends drank before. The wine was incorrectly served warm and wasn't drinkable. We spoke with the owner who told us that the fridge was at the right temperature. But the wine told us otherwise. We basically had no choice but to wait for almost an hour while the wine chilled in an ice bucket at our table. An otherwise delicious meal was ruined because we couldn't drink the wine with our meal. The owner stubbornly refused to acknowledge that the wine was too warm. While discussing the situation with him in Italian he contradicted himself when we tried to explain it to him. He even had the nerve to try to sell us a second bottle and put it on ice while we were waiting for the first one to chill. He never offered us anything for our inconvenience. His extremely poor customer relations and stubbornness will ensure that we and all who we know will...

Location at the plaza has a great atmosphere in the middle of the old town of Bordighera. The setup is also very nice. The service is friendly but not too much motivated. All drinks have to be served on your own. For this price range I would require a better service. Another example is no active communication besides the questions about coffee or dessert. The food is good but takes no risks and is seasoned averagely. The gnocchi were really good but all in all lack of the taste is not what you expect when you pay around 20-25€ per course. L’odore del baccalà è quello… ma anche no.

Ho ordinato delle trofie pesto patate e fagiolini. Purtroppo sono arrivate crude, senza fagiolini né patate e ho dovuto mandare indietro il piatto.

Poi è arrivato il baccalà che purtroppo era palesemente avariato. L’odore era talmente forte e sgradevole che si sono lamentati anche dal tavolo dietro e di fianco al nostro, (Figuriamoci noi che lo avevamo al tavolo) anche questa volta purtroppo abbiamo dovuto mandarlo indietro. Nessuna scusa dalla cucina, solo la frase passivo-aggressiva: "l’odore del baccalà è quello, noi lo facciamo cosi”. Ci è stato chiesto se volevamo altro, ma non ce la siamo sentita volevamo solo concludere la “cena” e andare via.

Mangiare fuori oggi è una spesa che pesa, non un favore. Con certi prezzi, la qualità della materia prima e l’attenzione al cliente dovrebbero essere scontate.

Dopo un quiproquo anche sul Conto dovuto all ennesimo errore dei ristoratori (ci è stato lasciato al tavolo un biglietto con un totale di 52 euro, ma poi è stato battuto al pos 56euro! (x mezzo litro di vino rosè della casa, un piatto di trofie e un piatto di spaghetti burro e acciughe) alle nostre lamentele ci è stato applicato un piccolo sconto finale, ma dopo il pagamento la cameriera ce lo ha ancora rinfacciato in modo sgarbato, facendoci sentire davvero a disagio.
