Ristorante Pizzeria Saraceno — Restaurant in Bordighera

You mustn’t miss this little gem if you are visiting the area! Located at the entrance of the charming and fairy-talesque Bordighera Alta village, you will be immediately enchanted by the welcoming atmosphere and the irresistible smell of fresh seafood at the Ristorante Saraceno. Everything was fabulous from the appetizers to the dessert ! For starters we tried the warm and fluffy gnocco frito with thinly sliced prosciutto ham that melts in your mouth, as well as the delicious fritto misto. The seafood risotto was fresh, creamy and absolutely divine. And last but not least, the tiramisu was literally the best I’ve had in my entire life! Service is quick and friendly at this family owned restaurant, and the decor has lots of period charm. Definitely a 10/10 !!!...

My Italian husband and I have been here a few times over the years, but this was the last. They sat us on a table without a tablecloth or cutlery and then took our orders. Once the table was dressed, they asked us to go to another table – again with no tablecloth or cutlery. At the end of the meal the waiter takes our plates and knocks over my full glass of wine without apologising. I tell the manager about our experience, and she doesn’t care, but does take the 3 euros off the bill for the glass of wine (pretty sure a glass of wine costs more than that)….

There are so many other restaurants in Bordighera Alta which are cheaper with much better...

Da qualche tempo non mi recavo in un ristorante per via del lockdown dovuto alla pandemia del covid-19. Sabato sera, assieme a quattro amici ci presentiamo in questo ristorante a seguito di prenotazione. Era già qualche mese che non mi capitava di mangiare in questo ristorante. Subito veniamo accolti da uno dei titolari che ci assegna una cameriera la quale ci accompagna al nostro tavolo. Il locale era frequentato soprattutto nell'area esterna dove vi sono i tavoli all'aperto sul terrazzino che si affaccia su via Bastioni. Noi decidiamo di rimanere nella sala interna, pulita, semplice e molto accogliente. La cameriera, con molta simpatia, ci illustra eventuali varianti al menu e la possibilità di porzionare i vari piatti dagli antipasti ai secondi in modo che tutti possano degustare le varie pietanze. Tutti concordiamo per delle cozze "rosse" come antipasto anticipate da un'ottima pizza mergherita tagliata a spicchi come apreitivo, poi 3 spaghetti alle vongole, uno semplice con pomodoro e basilico ed un risotto alla marinara (famoso per questo ristorante). Tutti soddosfatti dell'antipasto e dei primi piatti anche se qualcuno ha notato una leggera sapidità degli spaghetti. Di secondo abbiamo richiesto una frittura di calamari per 4 persone e una bistecca media cottura con verdure grigliatie. L'aspetto della frittura era molto invitante: colore chiaro e gusto equilibrato. L'amico che ha mangiato carne e verdure era soddisfatto come che aveva mangiato la frittura. Tutto è stato accompagnato da un'ottima bottiglia di vino Pigato, caratteristico di questa zona geografica. Dolci: tre panna cotta ed un tiramisu. Caffè e digestivi offerti. Costo medio a persona Euro 35,00. Tutti soddisfatti e sazi. Complimenti allo staff di cucina e di sala del ristorante Il Saraceno....
