Belle Epoque — Restaurant in Brescia

The location is super convenient to St Lucia train station in Venice and bus ride to/from airport, w exception of a modern bridge as some say w small and quite a few steps if you have big bags to carry. I liked the entrance when I was in venice in September and stayed 2 nights in Jan. The rooms could benefit major upgrades including heat system, better mattresses, blanket and bed cover that feels clean and is washable. I asked for several extra sheets on the mattress and to make sure the blanket or bed cover does not touch me. Georgina at checkin was very nice and helpful. You can hear people next door talking normally. The heating doesn't quite work, during a 2-week trip in other hotels w functional heating system, I would either have it off or at 20 c. Here you have to call reception and they say it is set at 28! And it is not, much colder. Breakfast to go did not have anything for me to take, no yoghurt, no egg, while they put a juice and a bottle of water which I didn't take as I already bought one bottle of water and dont care for juice or...

Venerdì, chiamo alle 17 per prenotare aperitivo per 10 persone alle 20.15. Mi viene detto, perfetto prenotato. Arriviamo ore 20. Ci viene dato un tavolo con testa ad una trave portante, in due a capotavola, stretti e per gli sfortunati a capotavola impossibilitatà di interagire con gli amici a sinistra. A 20:20 circa arriva cameriere, prende le ordinazioni, ricapitola due volte l'ordinazione, va via, dopo 1 minuto ritorna perché non ricordava 2 cocktail (ci chiediamo ma non ha scritto?) Riscrive, va via. Ci avviamo al buffet, al piano superiore, sulla scale ritroviamo il cameriere che ci richiede, scusandosi per la pessima memoria, una delle ordinazioni (ripensiamo: ma se ha scritto tutto 2 volte, boh). Arriviamo al buffet a circa 8.30, tutto vuoto, vassoi con briciole. Chiediamo alla cameriera se portano altro e ci viene detto "non credo" ma chiedete a quel ragazzo. Chiediamo al ragazzo che ci risponde: l'aperitivo è dalle 18 alle 21 ma 1) non erano ancora le 21, 2) a telefono nessuno me lo ha detto. Gli faccio notare questa cosa e mi dice: forse adesso arrivano 2 pizzette. Peccato però che c'erano una ventina di adolescenti affamati in attesa delle 2 pizzette. Chiediamo se ci possono portare qualcosa al tavolo, ci risponde che il servizio a tavolo e a pagamento. Ci rinuncio e penso, basta andiamo via ma ooops...il cameriere ci aveva già fatto pagare subito all'ordinazione. Insomma arrabbiati torniamo al tavolo. Alla fine arrivano i cocktail, più ghiaccio che cocktail, e probabilmente, rendendosi conto di aver dato un pessimo servizio, arriva al tavolo qualche stuzzichino. Per questo una stella in più. Very good cocktails, wells presented. LOCATION in the corner of a square - some traffic but nice city vibe. DRINKS were delicious and well garnished, and included Apertivo. It used to be an amazing buffet concept, but today/now is a plate they bring to you. Still, it’s a nice plate of crisps, nuts, meats, cheese, rice/risotto and other (and they’ll bring more!).
