Signorvino Brescia — Restaurant in Brescia

I was in Brescia with friends this September and we went along to a couple of wine tastings. We have been to other branches in Italy but felt really at home in Brescia. The staff looked after us really well particularly Gianluca. We had a regional frizzante wine tasting for lunch with the Antipasti boards of meats & cheese breads and fried vegetables. It was delicious and Gianluca was very knowledgable and informative. So we decided to go again on our last night in town for a red wine tasting again with the tasting boards. It was busier but we still felt we got great food wine and attentive service. For me it was an opportunity to taste some great quality wines without waste and for a reasonable price accompanied by good food and company in a lovely atmosphere with fabulous decor -loved the plates with funny adages ! I expected a little more from place that seem to specialize in wine.

The red wine came at “room temperature” which was in the upper 20s at this time. So reluctantly, I had to ask for an ice cube in order to bring it to a more suitable temperature. Waiter comes out with a glass full of already melting ice cubes and just pours my wine into it. So I end up with a much too cold and very watered down pinot nero.

Staff was friendly, but didn’t seem to know a lot about wine and you expect a wine bar to temperate all their wines (especially if it’s 35 degrees in the city).

At least a very nice view of some good old italian fascism era...

Garbage service! The girl at the door was extremely rude and wouldn't let me dine in even with proof of my 3 moderna vaccines. I have been in italy for a week and it's the first time this happened. I have read the rules and know what it takes to dine in a restaurant in italy. Even though I also had a negative test she still turned me away. I felt embarrassed and humiliated, and was made to feel like I was doing something wrong. Now I would be okay with someone turning me away, it's in the manner that she did it.
