Trattoria Urbana "Mangiafuoco" — Restaurant in Brescia

I was told this is one of the best restaurants in Brescia and I can confirm without a doubt that it is. This is a must if you'd like to understand the typical cuisine of the area.

The atmosphere is lovely and unpretentious while the service is very calm and welcoming (although we did get there early so it hadn't become busy yet). The prices for the pasta may seem a bit steep, but the portions are abundant and optimal for sharing. In fact, my wife and I shared the formaggella with pancetta, the pappardelle del Mostasù and the ossobuco, and it was the perfect amount for two. The house wine is excellent, as is to be expected.

Do yourself a favour and eat here as often as you're able.

One of my all time favorite restaurants!!

Traveling extensively throughout the world for work and in my free time and eating in all level restaurants from Michelin Star to street food and home-style cooking this place has remained one of my favorites in the world for the last years. Rarely have I met someone who chooses his recipes, beverages and ingredients with so much care and love as Savino Poffa does -- there seems to be a story behind every choice! I can only recommend to pass for a lunch or dinner if in the area. Even a longer detour will not disappoint you!!! Pure...

Tanto da raccontare su questa trattoria urbana, il nome non vi tragga in inganno, è un ristorante vero e proprio, con cucina bresciana con inflessioni toscane. È da anni che frequento questo ampio locale, accogliente, fresco d'estate e caldo d'inverno, ma l'accoglienza migliore ce l'hai da Savino, che ti saprà consigliare in un viaggio gastronomico ad un ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo. Ottimi gli antipasti, notevole la selezione di formaggi con le squisite marmellate, molto buoni i primi e spettacolari i secondi, grazie probabilmente alle oculate scelte delle materie prime, soprattutto per quanto riguarda la carne. Atterri sui dolci e hai voglia di ritornare per assaggiare ancora qualcosa. Economico con ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo il pranzo di lavoro durante la settimana, con la scelta tra tre primi e tre secondi. Difficile da raggiungere in macchina, bisogna mettere in conto una camminata di 5 minuti dal parcheggio di piazza Vittoria. Da provare per aver la voglia di tornare! Sempre deliziosi i salumi e i formaggi, i risotti strepitosi e da lacrime i secondi (guancetta di vitello al barolo, manzo all'olio, stracotto d'asino tutti con la polenta del Mangiafuoco). Panettone di pasticceria con crema chantilly per festeggiare il Natale. Tutto buonissimo e apprezzato.
