Hanami — Restaurant in Brindisi

We only went here because it was close and we were tired. We know this place is like fast food quality. But it was even worse this time we tried it. No improvements over a year since we were last here. I know eating "Japanese style" food in italy is mock Japanese. It's really Chinese style, which I love anyway. If you want decent Japanese food, you go to Milan. But at this restaurant the quality and service is McDonald's level. And that's giving a compliment. Sorry, I'm just in a bad mood. We've eaten here before in 2021. It was ok then, too. But the service was much better. Trying this restaurant again, big mistake. Definitely go to the others in town. First off, we made a reservation because it's Friday. We requested to sit at the Japanese tables in the back. Upon arrival, we were greeted with an adittude. A waiter should never behave this way in any restaurant towards a customer. So we were seated, should have just left. We stayed and ordered the basics to see if at least the food would outshine the prudent wait staff. (It's the Italian staff. Very rude and cocky. More than usual. Girls, you work in a restaurant. Don't act like you are above. We might as well have gone to a bar. Because this place feels below that. Sorry. The non Italians working here are much better. Kinder good people. I gave them a $10 tip.)

Ok, so now the food. The ramen noodles are the cheap low brand kind. Not even the regular instant kind. You can tell by the taste. The ramen is not ramen but more a Chinese style dish. You can taste it in the broth. Which is fine. Just the noodles are terrible. The cost of the 🍜 ramen should be $3. Just be aware. The rainbow 🌈 🍣 roll was ok. Tasted like quick pick up style you'd find in Hawaii or in Japan at an AMPM store. It's not horrible, but it's definitely not good quality wise. And last the fried rice. It's overcooked. Too much salt, and the chicken was just barely under cooked. It's not bad, but it's definitely low quality. When I lived in China, I could get better quality.

We didn't order any more.

I did request if making a dragon roll was possible. They have all the ingredients to do so. The nasty girl gave us an attitude about it, saying no. Lol.wow, just wow. Girl, no wonder if you work as a waitress. You will not achieve anything in life with how you behave. You'll be low in society if you keep this attitude.

I'm writing this review as the wait staff is looking at me, waking behind be slowly trying to see it. Hey, it's a truthful review. I love fusion, honestly. We've tried other "Japanese " restaurants in this town. This is now the worst to us. We tried telling someone about the horrible service. All of a sudden, 3 girls run up trying to lie to defend their lies. Total 180 in personality. Fake sweet kindness all of a sudden. I feel bad for any guy that dates any girl that works at this restaurant. Yikes. These girls know they screwed up. Acting like 5 year olds that got caught. Yikes.

We left hungry and will never come back.

I know my review is pointless. It won't affect or change anything. But it's a good heads up for others who are not local wanting to try this place. Just be aware. If they had Panda Express in this country, I'd suggest you go there instead. 😉 I'm sure they don't want us to come back after this honest review, and we don't want to go back, lol. (We were very polite in the restaurant, even after the bad service. We live in northern italy. We rarely encounter such badly behaved people working in restaurants. So to us this is below standard appalling. Maybeit'ss normal here? I don't think so because we've found restaurants with much better service and food. Peccato! La qualità del sushi a livello di cucina "all you can eat" è abbastanza buona, non fosse per il servizio di volta in volta più lento e disordinato. Sapendo della lentezza del servizio, infatti, ieri abbiamo deciso di prenotare per le 12:30; quando siamo arrivati non c'era ancora tanta gente. Una volta seduti a tavola, l'unica cosa che è arrivata presto è stata l'acqua. Quando finalmente siamo riusciti a fare la prima comanda (tatticamente abbondante per la succitata lentezza del servizio), abbiamo constatato che le porzioni, nel tempo, si sono ridimensionate di tanto rispetto alle prime volte che ci sono andata; oltre a ciò, alcune ordinazioni arrivavano a metà e altre sono andate smarrite - avevo chiesto 4 porzioni di nigiri al salmone e 4 di nigiri al tonno da mangiare con la persona che era con me e ne sono arrivate esattamente la metà (2 di salmone e 2 di tonno); le "degustazioni" che stanno ad inizio del menù sono arrivate (mancava il purè) a fine pranzo; non è arrivato un onigiri presente nella prima comanda, tanto da doverlo ordinare nella seconda comanda... Devo dire che è la prima volta che sono uscita dal locale -dopo 3 ore (a causa dei tempi di attesa del servizio) - con la fame. Se avessi fatto un aperitivo mi sarei saziata di più! Che poi non me la prendo neppure troppo coi camerieri (l'unico appunto che faccio loro è che, se un cliente ti chiama, non è carino sviare e non tornare da chi ti ha chiamato 20' prima che tu andassi a servire un altro tavolo), la cosa più paradossale era vederli sballottolati da un tavolo all'altro che prendevano ordinazioni che poi appiccicavano al vetro dei sushi Man ma che poi non sapevano a chi riportare quello che veniva preparato perché i tavoli non hanno un numero di riferimenti e, di conseguenza, ogni comanda era ANONIMA e non riconducibile a chi l'aveva fatta. Devo ammettere che per un locale come l'Hanami, che ha anche dei bei spazi e un bel look, non ci si aspetta un servizio così scadente che, alla fine, te ne fa uscire col rimpianto di non essere andata a mangiare sushi qualche isolato più in là dove si trova un altro locale carino in cui mangiare con più serenità e senza il nervoso di inseguire i camerieri...
