Ristorante Venezia — Restaurant in Carrara

Absolutely horrible waitress. I made an order and there was clearly a misunderstanding, and a different dish was delivered. Honestly, these things happen and it didn't have to be a big deal. However, when I questioned it she just seemed absolutely disgusted with me. It was such a horrible reaction. She first told me I could take the food home and eat it. Really tried to refuse to take it away and just seemed angry when she eventually did. Got me to show her what I pointed to on the menu again and blamed me for not being clear. Her attitude was genuinely disgusting. I've never quite witnessed anything like it.

Otherwise the food was good and we had a nice time, but she absolutely ruined the whole experience and turned a nice family meal into something quite miserable after such an infuriating interaction.

They did eventually right the situation by bringing the correct dish and throwing in an extra course for free, but the initial reaction was so rude I can't rate this any higher...

Premessa: se ci fosse qui l’italiano medio a giudicare, direbbe che per quello che ha speso ha mangiato bene. Prima di entrare in questo ristorante ho dato un’occhiata ai menu dei vari ristoranti in zona (TUTTI UGUALI, Vaporata di Mare, Spaghetto alle Vongole, Grigliata di Pesce, Frittura di Pesce, Polpo Scottato e potrei continuare fino a domani). Date le bellissime recensioni e i prezzi un po’ più alti rispetto agli altri, (sono del parere che se vuoi mangiare bene devi spendere) decidiamo per questo ristorante. Ci sediamo, ci portano i menu e dopo esattamente un minuto un cameriere viene a chiederci l’ordine, ovviamente gli chiediamo di tornare dopo. Aprendo il menu, e leggendo i primi salta fuori ‘CREMA DI PANNA’, e già qui capisco a che livello è la cucina. Prendiamo come antipasti una impepata di cozze (cozze decisamente precotte, piccole, quasi invisibili),penso saranno state un kilo di cozze, e una Vaporata di mare (per questa ho chiesto olio, sale, pepe e limone. NON SAPEVA DI NIENTE. Poi prendiamo uno spaghetto alle vongole (asciutto, anche qui, almeno 250g di pasta) e una frittura di pesce (l’unica cosa decente se non fosse per il fatto che c’era un gambero contato e tutti calamari). In tutta la serata non c’è stato un cameriere che ci ha chiesto se tutto andasse bene. Alla prima portata, la mia compagna aveva quasi finito le cozze e io ancora aspettavo il mio antipasto. È assurdo come in posti del genere ci sia così tanta disorganizzazione, un cliente paga per avere un buon servizio e quello di ieri è stato tutto tranne che buono. Lovely place for fish!

Difficult not to like this restaurant: big portions, good fish, great presentation, nice personnel, and a stone’s throw away from the seaside. A combo not to be missed. The best is to seat outside on a nice sunny day and enjoy the fish menu. We had amazing fish pasta (lasagnette Venezia) and the most classic “fritto misto” with some grilled swordfish to share. We closed the menu with a small but pleasant dessert. Our waiter was tip top and the price was reasonable (around 33 EUR each).
