Public House - Burger Gourmet — Restaurant in Caserta

We were looking for a burger in Caserta that met our Tucson Arizona fully expecting no such place after all we are not in our state. Well after having done a quick search we came upon this pub. First the appetizer of fried pasta fritters was great. Done well not overcooked and light with no heavy oil tasting and very crispy. Next we ordered one blue cheese burger and one Montanaro burger both cooked medium. The burgers came exactly as ordered. They also came with “dipper” fries— unheard of in the states. These fries are cut from small round yellow potatoes machine cut in dipper shapes such that the edges on one end are thin and very crispy— potato chip like, while on the other end —thicker such that they are soft and chewy—steak fries like with skin both textures on one fry. Shape is ideal for dippy into salsa, light as cooked perfectly. However for me definitely no need for any condiments here(I adore ketchup) and I could not and did not think of messing with the flavor. I was very surprised and loved it all. Lastly capped off with a desert of chocolate tart capped with vanilla gelato and chocolate sauce. Excellent and not overly sweet. Beer was a Neapolitan IPA like beer. Service was very quick and for those who were with us that were English speaking they accommodated them easily enough. Parking is like the rest of the city. Best to find a spot somewhere in the blue lines and pay for a timed ticket and just walk to anywhere you need to go and avoid the headache. Ne avevo sentito parlare bene ma non mi ci ero mai fermato sempre per mancanza di tempo. Però oggi ho finito tardi a lavoro, ero praticamente in centro a Caserta, a pochi passi dalla famosa Reggia e mi sono trovato davanti ‘Public House’ e a quel punto non ho esitato a entrare per fermarmi a cena. Trovo subito un’atmosfera molto confortevole, informale, amichevole ma piena di stile e gusto, con tanti dettagli che mi hanno fatto pensare che chi gestisce questo ristorante ci mette tanto di sé e dei propri gusti, come se mi volesse raccontare qualcosa. Ho trovato che ‘Public House’ fosse sì un luogo molto adatto per condividere grandi chiacchiere e grandi risate ma anche proprio a metà strada tra un posto del cuore e una vera e propria tana del gusto: mi sono sentito un po’ in un pub , un po’ in Hamburgheria , un po’ in un bistrot , un po’ in un ristorante e ho pensato che questa cosa fosse molto bella perché la magia è proprio questa , raccontare tutte queste versioni tramite il cibo , senza etichette perché tutti questi mondi vivono in Public House . Ovviamente per i Burger lovers si tratta di una tappa eccellente a Caserta , potendo scegliere fra proposte classiche ( come l’american Burger scelto da me e servito già accompagnato da patatine) e altre proposte molto più ricercate , anche gourmet , dove non solo si percepisce l’eccellenza delle materie prime ma anche tanta capacità di cucina nella preparazione , nell’abbinamento e nella cottura degli ingredienti , solo una grande passione verso il cibo può riassumere tutte queste caratteristiche . C’era anche qualche proposta di dolce molto golosa , ottima selezione di birre e di vini . Sicuramente ci tornerò con amici per condividere tutto il gusto di questo posto . A hidden neighborhood gem!! Absolutely the best burger and steak fries and not just here…they rival the USA and we’ve had our fair share of burgers and fries in our travels.
