Bar Gelateria l'ancora — Restaurant in Castellabate

So many brilliant things to say about Bar Lancora! I had to pinch myself at how perfect this place it. Right on the beach front of the most picturesque town I've ever seen you could think you were in your own paradise. The atmosphere is so chilled during the day, we sat for hours, people watching and sipping the most delicious cocktails. (Do not leave without trying the Ameretto sour and the Hugo spritz) I went back here more than any other spot in SM because it's got everything, great coffee food drinks atmosphere and it's also a gelatoria!!! Domenico the owner is justifiably proud of his home made ice cream. You can taste the quality. It's outstandingly good! We went in May so we never had to wait for a table and when I tell you Domenico and his staff will greet with open arms and a huge smile, believe me you feel like family. Domenico is also so helpful for tips about the area and planning trips. He booked several restaurants for us and helped with taxis. At night if you want music and a party atmosphere Bar Lancora is also the spot for you. What more can I say? Oh we will be back

PS the owner Domenico needs a 5 star review of his own. Seriously he saved our skins on the last day when all of a sudden a train strike meant we couldn't get back to Naples to the airport. Everything was cancelled. NO NOTICE ALL TRAINS CANCELLED 😲 Within minutes he haDd organised a transfer for us at a fraction of the normal price. He took all the strees away and sent us home feeling on top of the world. He was a point of help all through the holiday but this just topped everything! He is a great person with a smile to greet everyone. Go say hi and shake his hand. But a Spritz and an Ice cream then sit back and enjoy the best holiday you'll ever have. I can't wait...

Pessima esperienza Non amo scrivere recensioni simili, ma i colleghi di Google devono essere messi a conoscenza. Premesso che il posto è magnifico, la vista dal dehor sublime... questo è quello che ci è capitato: in vacanza con la famiglia abbiamo deciso fare aperitivo in questo punto esterno che prometteva molto bene. Ho dato un’occhiata alla lista dei cocktail, molto ben assortita e ho chiesto alla ragazza se il barman fosse bravo perché avrei voluto prendere un Long island, cocktail non semplicissimo da fare. (Non x fare il fenomeno ma essendo io un bartender vi dico che un cocktail con 4 basi alcoliche è tutt’altro che semplice, se le dosi non sono precise, il cocktail diventa imbevibile. Così è stato. Imbevibile. Ho chiesto gentilmente alla commessa di farmelo sostituirmelo con una caipiroska... difficilmente sbagliabile. Avevamo saldato, ma non ci aveva ancora conservato il resto. È tornata la ragazza dicendo che comunque il proprietario riteneva di dover tenere 5 euro xè l’alcool a lui costa. Vergognoso, non sei in grado di preparare un cocktail della tua lista e vuoi da me i 5 euro dell’alcool. Mi sono recato a banco e gli ho detto che non è modo dì comportarsi. Non ha voluto sentire ragione. Gli ho anche spiegato che io preparo mediamente 300 cocktail a serata e quando mi capita di sbagliarne uno, può capitare, chiedo scusa a cliente e glielo rifaccio. A me non costa nulla cambiarglielo, ma ha lui cambia la serata bere una porcata che il quale magari ha speso i pochi soldi che aveva... E comunque gli ho detto di tenersi le 5 euro ma di vergarsi. La parte peggiore è che il fenomeno ha mandato la ragazza al dehor (lei imbarazzatissima) con i soldi del conto totale pagato da restituirci con la richiesta di lasciare immediatamente il tavolo e il locale. Ma dico uno veramente può essere così idiota? Comunque ho declinato l’offerta e abbiamo finito la consumazione. Prima di andare la ragazza è tornata con le 5 euro. Commento finale: posto bellissimo, preparazione cocktail non sufficiente (almeno x il Long island, da evitare) capacità commerciali e attenzione al cliente: PESSIME. Caro titolare, questa è la mia recensione per te. Sei un cafone e devi vergognarti. Hai un posto d’oro ma non sei capace. Fossi in te lo darei in gestione. Buona giornata e ti auguro...

Für gewöhnlich nehme ich mir fast nie die Zeit für eine Rezension. Jedoch war ich in diesem Jahr dermaßen verärgert, dass ich mir sehr gerne die Zeit dafür nehme. Leider bekommt die Bar nur einen Stern (mit Sicherheit aufgrund der einzigartigen Lage direkt am Meer) Die Cocktails waren nur sehr mittelmäßig und zum Teil äußerst klein für einen stolzen Preis von 8 Euro. Was aber besonders zu unserer großen Unzufriedenheit geführt hat, war die äußerst unfreundliche Bedienung, die uns nicht nur als einzigem Tisch keine Knabbereien serviert hat, sondern auch bei dem Versuch dies zu beanstanden ( durch Handzeichen wie im Schulunterricht) mehrfach ignoriert hat. Selbst nach dem Zücken des Geldbeutels lief man sehr arrogant am Tisch vorbei. Da war nichts zu erkennen von süditalienischer Herzlichkeit. Meine Tochter musste erst die Geldscheine auf den Tisch legen, um endlich Aufmerksamkeit zu erregen. Santa Maria di Castellabate ist quasi mein Heimatort. Meine ganze Kindheit habe ich im Sommer dort verbracht und so kenne ich meine Landsleute nicht. 😕 Gemeinsam mit meinem Vater organisieren wir seit vielen Jahren Studienreisen in unsere Heimat und bringen vielen deutschen Touristen die Liebe zu unserem Land nahe. Ich möchte nicht, dass das Bild, das ich vermitteln möchte, durch eine Erfahrung wie der mit meiner Familie und unseren deutschen Freunden, zerstört wird. Guter Service und absolute Freundlichkeit sowie zuvorkommende Behandlung sind nun mal im Dienstleistungsgewerbe oberstes Gebot. Und wenn man sich nach 2 Jahren Abwesenheit auf einen schönen gemeinsamen Cocktailabend am Meer freut, dann will man den sich mit Sicherheit nicht durch schlechte Laune verderben lassen.
