We came with high expectations of a unique seafood restaurant led by a distinctive chef specializing in fish and seafood. Unfortunately, the experience turned out to be quite disappointing.
The starters were promising — well-prepared and genuinely enjoyable. However, things quickly went downhill. The main courses took more than 70 minutes to arrive, which is far too long. When they finally did, the disappointment only deepened. The tuna with pistachios, in particular, was underwhelming — simply seared with a pistachio crust, lacking finesse or depth of flavor. It was, regrettably, among the most tasteless tuna dishes I’ve ever had.
Service did little to improve the impression. The waiter seemed rushed and transactional, focused only on entering orders into his handheld device, without taking time to engage with guests or offer any recommendations. During the 70-minute wait for the main course, there was no interaction at all from the staff, which added to the sense of neglect.
Overall, the evening felt overpriced and disappointing — far from the memorable dining experience we...
Read moreIf you don’t speak Italian, be warned: we showed up and the moment our waitress asked if we spoke Italian and we said no, she spoke something Into her microphone In Italian to her colleagues and things went downhill from there. Messed up the drink order twice and never corrected it, delivered one of our pasta dishes with the pesto missing, never came and asked about how things were going…but made sure to stop plenty of times at all the Italian speaking tables to check with them. No surprise - i grew up in an Italian family and i am familiar with how this works, but I didn’t expect it at a touristy restaurant. Food was okay - the eggplant parmigiana in particular was delicious while the shrimp was awful. Do yourself a favor and if you’re a tourist, avoid the waterfront restaurants and this one in particular. Eat at Agriturismo hotels that have restaurants within them, they’re MUCH better and priced much...
Read moreBeautiful setting, food a MAJOR disappointment. Seated by the maitre'd who brought olive oil to the table but forgot the bread (and ignored us the rest of our neal). Ordered fresh pasta pomodoro, and it was severely overcooked. No excuse in Italy! Although the waitress tried: saying first pasta of the day, cooked 4 MINUTES! Who cooks fresh pasta for four minutes? As we finished the meal, my dish left virtually untouched, THEN she offered to have chefs redo it. At the END of the meal? Although recommended by our hotel and my husband's spaghetti with clams was tasty, I suggest eating at another restaurant in the beautiful Castlemarre area with many other choices. Shame on you...
