This restaurant is spectacular! The view (during the day) is incredible and the food is delicious. When you sit at your table looking at the sea you feel you are in a movie. Again, spectacular!!! They have a really nice menu (not only pizza), but we wanted pizza and that’s what we had. DELICIOUS!!! They use a wood pizza oven, so the flavor is amazing. The chef/owner, Pino, is always making sure everyone is happy and satisfied with the experience.
One night, we brought a few friends for dinner and a bottle of proseco to celebrate. They were nice enough to put it in their fridge to keep it cold for us. When we were ready to drink it, Pino (owner) realized that our bottle wasn’t cold enough so he brought his own proseco (cold) and gifted it to us. What a gesture!!!! This is one of those little things that makes a restaurant come on top of others.
The rest of the staff we met (Maria, Ana, Irena) were so helpful and friendly!!!
In short, when in Castellammare del Golfo, YOU MUST eat at LA TIMPA. You will...
Read moreWow! I highly highly recommend you try this place for ma y reasons. The food is outstanding - every single thing we had (and we ate here 3 times in a week, over-ordering each time) was amazing, flavourful and perfectly cooked. My top recommendation would 100% be the "Busiata Scoglio" and the mussels in white wine. Outstanding!! I also had the seafood salad which was rammed with an outstanding amount of fresh fish and pizza was brilliant too! The Rusticella I think I had - ace! Also the view here is amazing - they have the beat sunsets and the sea breeze keeps things cool! The staff were also top notch! One time we went without booking and had to wait for a table, waited maybe 10 mins and they gave us a complimentary glass of prosecco while we waited! Their house white is very nice (tho less keen on the red) and espresso also very good More expensive than other places we ate but I would suggest you try it at...
Read moreA very cozy family-owned restaurant. It was a coincidence to find it, yet we had to come back on the very next day. It’s a busy place, tables on a passage with view to the sea… the clientele: locals, italians from other regions, foreigners, groups celebrating any occasion and couples having a romantic time. The service is fast (it’s a busy place), and it is so pleasant to see all the staff working in such a synchronized way, speaking to each other, as if they have been doing this for 100 years. Waiters are not only fast, also service-minded and even playful!
Recommendations: seafood it’s great and fresh… we had Spaghetti alle Vongole many times before, but this was just the Ferrari of Vongole… fresh and tasty (and they are not cheap with the Vongole, as many other places do). Pizzas are also very great, yet not the fully expected ‘Neapolitan’ style.
Tip: start and end your meal with a very...
