Our lunch at Silos was the highlight of our 2 week trip! sigh, wish I was still there
#1 - the location cannot be beat! What a dream. #2 - the service (ciao Francesco! Grazie per tutti! ) was absolutely incredible. We were treated like royalty, even though it was busy. We were wowed! #3 - the food was honestly, the best we had on our entire trip. Mussels, spaghetti vongole and an amazing Etna white wine - insane. We cannot wait to return to Sicily just so we can go back and have that experience again! #4 - the pace. Coming from Canada where we move fast, eat fast, work fast, etc, they didn't rush us. They welcomed us to stay, relax, enjoy the views and just be present. It was a very welcomed change of pace for us.

   Read moreMy friend and I went on vacation in Sicily. We luckily found this restaurant. It's definitely a must visit in Castellammare!!! The waiters and all the other employees are so friendly and nice. On our first day we got a vine suggestion and it was delicious! We tried different vines and we loved the different tastings.
Also the dishes are so good. We went to the restaurant a few times and tried always different meals and we were never disappointed! The meals are produced with high-quality ingredients. The view is majestic, the wind blows threw the hair, the coast is close you can see the sundown it's like a fairytale. I can recommend this restaurant. And for sure we'll come back and visit it again.

Vi brukar vara kritiska nĂ€r det kommer till mat, och vi brukar oftast jĂ€mföra hur pass bra smaken Ă€r kontra vilket pris man fĂ„r betala, eftersom det egentligen avgör det mesta. Vi nöjer oss inte med vanlig fantasilös och dĂ„lig mat som dom flesta andra svenskar alltid gör. Vi uppskattar kvalitet lika mycket som bra fantasi nĂ€r det kommer till professionell matlagning. HĂ€r var det över vĂ„ra förvĂ€ntningar iallafall. Vi bestĂ€llde in en flaska âCostanza di Mineo Doctrina ( Chardonnay )â som Ă€r ett vitt Sicilianskt vin som passade utmĂ€rkt till maten. Sedan bestĂ€llde vi en Pasta alla Norma (Busiate) som var gjord pĂ„ en syrlig, frĂ€sch och krĂ€mig tomatsĂ„s och istĂ€llet för bitar av aubergine som det vanligtvis brukar vara i sĂ„ hade dom gjort en god krĂ€m pĂ„ aubergine. Det smakade som att krĂ€men var gjord pĂ„ grillad aubergine. Vi bestĂ€llde ocksĂ„ in deras fĂ€rskfĂ„ngade fisk för dagen âSeabass ( Havsabborre )â som var grillad hel och blev rensad och serverad/upplagd av personalen om sĂ„ önskades. I vĂ„rat fall sĂ„ insisterade den trevliga och matintresserade Alessio pĂ„ det. Fisken var helt Ă€rligt en av dom godaste fiskrĂ€tterna som jag har Ă€tit, om inte t om den godaste. HĂ€r behövdes det inte krĂ„nglas till med nĂ„gra marinader eller kryddor för att det skulle smaka bra, utan kvaliten och den goda fĂ€rska havsabboren fick tala mer för sig sjĂ€lvt istĂ€llet. Det ringlades över lite god olivolja, fĂ€rsk pressad siciliansk citron, salt och peppar och sen var det bra, hur gott som helst! Konsistensen pĂ„ köttet blir sĂ„ bra nĂ€r den blir grillad hel, lite som lĂ„ngkokat kycklinglĂ„r i en soppa fast bĂ€ttre. Dessa smaker höjs ocksĂ„ ytterligare nĂ€r det Ă€r kolgrillat.
