I was advised to go to this place by a Sicilian taxi driver. He said it was a good trattoria with traditional Sicilian dishes and barbecue. Also good value. So I went there. First, it was pretty hard to understand how the menu worked because everything was really cheap. Then, nobody spoke English. And some of the staff were really not friendly nor patient with tourists. So my advice : first observe the locals and don't hesitate to ask what are they eating and order directly the same thing if you want to. Second, you should order one pasta dish and some grilled meat to share if you're a group. So order different things because the prices are for one peace each time. Third, try the horse meatballs with pistachio and Philadelphia, it's super delicious. The salad of tomatoes and ricotta (insalata della nonna) is really good too and pretty popular. Finally, service can be very slow and very quick at the same time. Don't hesitate to ask where is your food if you're seing tables next to you being served before you even when they ordered after you. I don't recommend the squid and the first pasta on the menu (garlic, olive oil). On overall, it was a good experience, good food and very good value (around 12euros per person). The service lacks but sometimes it's the drawback of...
Read moreIt was a recommendation from my airbnb host. The restaurant is famous for grilled horse meat, and I wanted to try horse meat. In souther part of Italy, horse meat is very popular. My friend and I ordered horse meat, two different meatballs and fries. We loved the horse meatball with Pistachio. We dined by the street, and atmosphere was very Italian like. It is not like any fine dining restaurant but I dont really need it either to enjoy a good local cuisine. The waitress did not speak english but they had english menu. So, no problem at all to figure out what to order. They also provided free bread. I reduced one star as the issue was each order came at different time even though we ordered at the same time. So, dishes got cold while we were waiting for the other one to try. All in all, it was a delicious, cheap and very nice local...
Read moreReview from 2022 (google went crazy and deleted my post): The food was delicious, I had horse meat for the first time and it was amazing, but the bill after leaving the restaurant did not match. Attention! Always ask for a receipt! I read in the reviews that they cheat tourists and do not give receipts. In our case it was similar, we ordered 2x pasta (12 euro), 2x horse meat (8 euro), service (1 euro / person) 2x 500ml beers (we don't know how much they cost) but we paid 33 euro for the whole thing, so it looks like that the beer cost around 5 euros! I would gladly give 5 stars but for unfair practices towards tourists I give 3 stars which is a pity because the food was...
