Trattoria L’imperiale — Restaurant in Catania

I'm not sure how this place has got good reviews but me and my partner went and were excited to try the food due to the reviews, we got there and were greeted by a man who showed us a table inside, since there were no other people in the restaurant we asked if we could sit outside, this very unfriendly woman pulled a table out for us and we sat down. We were given menus and proceeded to sit there for ten-fifteen minutes, waiting for someone to come over. The woman (who was rude from the outset, no smile, no greeting) ignored us (she was stood right next to us) and spent the whole time chatting with another table. Just unbelievably rude and disappointing, I get the vibe they don't like tourists. We ended up leaving because we were ignored the whole time, just shocking. Don't recommend...

We were with family in this trattoria twice during our stay in Catania. No possible words can describe the magnificence of this particular restaurant. The service, both in terms of time, as well as attitude of the waiter, was benevolent. The food was really superb in every category and simply breathtaking - texture, flavour, presentation. One may say that interior is a little bit undermining to the establishment of such kind, however, it is not a crucial factor in discouraging visiting a place. The atmosphere is charming, as it is quiet and peaceful. Overall, I highly recommend this trattoria...

Dall’ingresso in via Plebiscito 847, si respira subito un’atmosfera autentica e accogliente: il personale vi fa sentire come a casa, con calore ed efficienza. 🍷

Cibo eccellente e piatti della tradizione • La parmigiana è stata definita “la più buona di Catania” da più fonti su TikTok  . Strati perfettamente equilibrati, melanzane succose e saporito sugo casalingo: un vero omaggio alla cucina siciliana. • La grigliata mista a soli 12 € è una goduria completa: carni ben affumicate e ben combinate, un’offerta difficilmente superabile in centro città  .

Qualità a prezzi onesti L’Imperiale promette e mantiene una filosofia di “sempre e solo qualità” . La proposta gourmet è sorprendente, soprattutto considerato che resti accessibile anche a chi cerca un’ottima cena tradizionale senza spendere una fortuna.
