We've known Ernesto for years and every visit is a confirmation: this place is simply extraordinary! It's one of those historic bars where everything - and I mean everything - is of exceptional quality. From artisanal gelato to hot food, from pastries to granita - if someone wanted to try every specialty, they'd seriously risk gaining at least 10 kilos in a week!

This time we went for the classic Sicilian tradition: almond granita and peach/mulberry granita with cream, accompanied by two brioche with "tuppo".

The brioche were absolutely sublime - soft as clouds and with that unmistakable aroma that envelops you even before taking a bite. They literally melted in your mouth.

As for the granita... well, I truly can't find the words! The flavors were incredibly fresh and genuine, you could taste all the natural fruit. The creaminess was perfect, that silky consistency that only true masters can achieve. Every spoonful was a little celebration for the palate.

Unbelievable how rude the staff is. I asked for an arancino and a drink ( crodino drink ) . The waiter came with a plate of peanuts and crisps on top of the food I have ordered. I said that I just wanted the arancino and the drink and he said "ok". When I asked for the bill , I was shocked, €14 ! They wrote " aperitivo" and they charged me for something I didn't eat! I went to the till for explanation: I told him I didn't order an aperitivo but only an arancino and a crodino drink. He said that crodino means aperitivo... Really? A glass of crodino is 7 euros!!!! Unbelievable, he wanted to charged me for food I never asked for and he wrote on the receipt. At the end he thrown the money back . Rude. If the crodino drink means having an aperitivo, why didn't the waiter say anything? That's not the way to treat a customer. Shame on you. I don't recommend this...

se ci fossero 1000 stelle da poter dare le darei sicuramente. Bar Ernesto pensi sia davvero una tappa incredibile perché vi catapulte rete in un mondo di estrema cura nei confronti di quello che si prepara ed estrema gentilezza e cordialità da parte di chi lavora. Oltre a tutto quello che si può trovare di tradizionale vanno incontro anche a varie esigenze come appunto molte disponibilità di prodotti vegani oppure senza lattosio e tanto altro. Il gelato è un qualcosa che solo alla vista fa venire l’acquolina in bocca e non vi dico invece per il gusto ma qui in particolare vedete nella foto quello che ho apprezzato maggiormente ossia la classica granita imperdibile in Sicilia. Per quanto ne abbia mangiate ogni giorno una diversa ti posso assicurare che questa è stata assolutamente la migliore. Non solo ero felice come una Pasqua di aver trovato una brioche con il topo vegana che era qualcosa di estremamente delizioso e non vi dico poi il fantastico gusto quando me l’hanno portata calda e l’ho pocciata nella granita bella fresca ma quest’ultima era davvero inconfondibile e sicuramente la migliore e quelle mai provate durante il mio viaggio in Sicilia. La sua consistenza era pazzesca e giusta ossia che non si scioglieva nel giro di 10 secondi ma non era neanche dura come un masso era proprio ottima non so neanche come descriverla. Non parliamo poi del suo gusto la mandorla si sentiva che era di una qualità eccelsa. Non so che altro aggiungere...
