La Pizzoleria was the worst meal of two months of travel in Sicily this year, but also the worst meal I’ve had in all of Italy in 25 years.

One and a half hours after we got our wine there was not a sign of any of the three courses we ordered, I told them just bring us the pizza forget about for focaccia, salad, pasta etc.

Then 10 minutes later a cold pasta an undercooked pizza, dry focaccia and an inedible salad all arrived exactly at the same time.

I am embarrassed to say the pizza was not nearly as good as dominoes after an hour of travel time.

The worst dining experience I’ve had in all of Italy in my entire life.

The tagliatelle pasta with porcini mushrooms and fresh sausage turned out to be Cold canned mushrooms with some soggy ground sausage that was cold at La Pizzoleria in Catania.

The cheese was not even melted on the pizza at La Pizzoleria in Catania, Sicily.

I should have known that this was going to be bad when the rest room offered bottled water to rinse the soap off your hands.

I wasted 2 hours of my life I can’t back sitting at La Pizzoleria in Catania, the WORST DINING EXPERIENCE IN ALL OF ITALY.

Especially because in Catania you have to go out of your way not to have a great dinner.

Tragic meal at La Pizzoleria. If I could give La Pizzoleria a zero star it would generous.

The tomatoes on the salad looked good, but were overripe and starting to decay.

I had the worst meal in 25 years of visiting Italy at La...

Ordered the parmigiana pizza to take away. Was told to wait 10 mins outside. I went to the shop nearby and bought some drinks, went back and sat at the seat closest to the cashier that took my order. She walked past me 3 times to serve the one other table seated. I waited patiently for 25 mins and kept looking back towards her everytime I saw someone walking past. She avoided eye contact and was sitting on her phone most of the time.

Another 10 mins go by and the food starts coming out for the other table and I get up and ask her, “is mine almost ready?” It’s thhhhhhhen she realizes that she forgot to put the order in. She runs into the kitchen and tells me 5 mins. I ask her to make sure the pizza is cooked because I really don’t want a rushed/raw pizza. I waited another 15 mins.

Finally the pizza comes out and I rush back to my hotel where I already missed a bunch of the football match I was planning to watch with a pizza in hand.

Got home to eat the worst pizza I have eaten. The dough was raw, cheese not cooked fully, all ingredients tasted “off” to be polite.

I wish I checked before I left but figured for all the time I waited that it would be done properly.

I do not recommend this place and should have known better than to trust a touristy looking place with terrible service staff. Absolutely...

This place is well located especially when you are running to get out of the rain. The fish I had was flavorful though it had more bones than I expected. Honestly, I was very happy with the experience until the woman who seems to be in charge came over with an energy that felt off. I asked if I could have a cup of warm water to drink without tea since it was cold and I wanted to warm up. She told me that she had to warm up a bottle of water because she believes that tap water shouldn’t be drank even if it is boiled into tea. She seemed pushy and like she preferred me not to be at the restaurant. It was just odd and for a place that serves after dinner coffee not to be able to give me a cup of hot water without me needing her to boil a bottle of water just seems strange. I feel like it was a money thing and she was just looking for a way to charge me for hot water. Hopefully that is the reason and not anything else. Either way, I was hoping to make a social media post about how good things where with the food and other waiters who even gave my dog water without me needing to ask but if the woman is the owner, I don’t want to come to this place anymore. This is my experience and you can decide...
