Plante Lab in Catania is a must-visit spot for plant-based food enthusiasts, offering not only incredible vegan dishes but also thoughtful touches like covered outdoor seating for rainy days and an English menu for easy ordering. During my visit, I had their Original Vegan Burger with added vegan bacon, paired with a Limoncello Spritz, and it was an experience to remember.
The Original Vegan Burger was nothing short of spectacular. The patty was perfectly cooked—juicy, well-seasoned, and bursting with flavor. Adding the vegan bacon elevated it even further, introducing a smoky, savory layer that complemented the burger’s robust profile. Fresh toppings and a creamy vegan sauce added the perfect balance, while the soft, sturdy bun made every bite satisfying. This was easily one of the best vegan burgers I’ve ever had.
To drink, the Limoncello Spritz was a delightful surprise. Its crisp, citrusy notes provided a refreshing counterpoint to the richness of the burger, making it the perfect pairing.
The setting at Plante Lab is modern and welcoming, with covered outdoor seating that allows diners to enjoy their meals comfortably, even on rainy days. An English menu is available, which makes it accessible for international visitors exploring Catania’s vibrant food scene.
Whether you’re vegan or simply looking for an exceptional meal, Plante Lab delivers in every way. Don’t leave Catania without trying their Original Vegan Burger—it’s a...

At first I was not sure between trying Plante Lab or going for a more traditional pizza (marinara you get me). I ended up going to Plante Lab for the sake of supporting their business ethos. Although it’s not fully vegan, 80% of the menu is. Hopefully 100% soon.
I did not know what to expect since it was lacking photos on this Google profile so I went to offer my fellow vegan tourists a review
The menu and place is like a neat fast food. Friendly people and simple design. You can chose from salads, burgers, sides and desserts. Easy. (Tables are outside)
For 2 of us we had: salad bowl: warm kind of Buddha bowl. Well balances (carbs, protein, nuts, greens..) burger: had to try it with the pop corn fried tofu. The patty is massive and very well done (with almonds and stuff). comes with a thick layer of fresh spinach leaves and homemade mayo. Nice crunch from the toasted almonds ey tacos: my favorite as tacos is often junk food but here it was very elaborated with caramelised onions, asparagus.. we had the chocolate dessert. So good I forgot to take a photo. it’s a mix between a tiramisu and a cloud.
It was a lot of food we were happy afterward even though I could have easily down something else as it...
Read moreSo, me coming from very international spots in the world, I would say that this restaurant is genius! All plant based and the staff is VERY friendly and they take the time to explain all the dishes. The menu is very short but the quality is very high! For Sicilian standards their English skills are over the top. Always eating Pizza and Pasta is of course boring and not healthy, this restaurant is a great choice for balancing. I HIGHLY recommend you the "P-Burger", that is a beyond meat burger and the crazy thing is, that it tastes like actual meat, looks like meat and its JUICY like meat! Nobody wants a dry burger! I have lived for many years in Berlin which is like the "Burger Capitol" in Europe and I have tasted a lot of vegan and vegetarian Burgers, NONE OF THEM TASTED THIS GOOD like at this restaurant! I was so stunned, that I literally have been there more over 5 times! The salads are very modern, tasty and well thought out!
Usually I never do reviews on google, but these people deserve it! I am so happy that I have explored it just by coincidence.
Just for you to know: Sicily is very bad at doing salads (they taste like nothing and also not good looking), the owner of this restaurant did...
