Never ever again!!! You had better avoid this place. It was just after the "famous" siesta time when we sat down here thinking that the fountain brings some fresh air towards us. Before we sat there we checked the menu. However we saw 4-5 waiters when we stood at the menu but none of them took any movement or gesture towards us. We were hungry after walking hours and only checked reviews while waited for the orders to get. Wish we'd done it earlier an run away... When we sat down a waiter came to us with the menu. For the order another waiter came and when he heard what we wanted he didn't bother to take our order. Then the next guy came so we asked if we can order. After ordering I requested where the toilet is then he explained there's no electricity so the bathroom is dark. I told him just need washing my hands so give me the clue where the bathroom is. Due to the close distance of the fish market flies were irritating us during our stay at the restaurant. In the pizza I got, there were 2 little stones. I bit on both - first I just thought crunchy edge of the pizza but they were actually stones. My tooth broken. I need to see my dentist now due to the stones!!! When we paid they overcharged 5€ saying it's the VAT. We didn't received any receipt of the payment due to no power but they could have been able to provide hand-written receipt. Before we paid I saw another couple having discussion about the payment with the waiter so I assumed they faced some overcharging as well. To be honest I didn't notice on the menu that the prices are without VAT. I felt neglected during our time there even if there were only a few guests so the waiters were not super busy. They were just spending time chatting and smoking. Smoke of their cigarettes flew upon us during the time we ate. The pizzas were over-salted. If you want to get nice experience and feel comfortable and relaxed go somewhere else but not here. This is a fraud, impostor, lazy gang rather than...

I have left many wonderful reviews over Italy on my travels. Unfortunately, this one is the bad experience umong them. I Hope if you are reading this you have done what I failed to do, and checked the reviews! We got pulled in and thought it would be okay. Unfortunately I feel that we have wasted a meal and 100€ that could have been wonderful elsewhere in Sicily. My partner does not eat fish, however he wanted me to experience the famous fish of sicily and the menu looked nice, so we went ahead. I must say the highlight of the place is the amazing waiting staff. They were so friendly, polite and hard working. Unfortunately their boss, Giuseppe, was the major downfall. Aligned with the food. He was pushy, put me under pressure even though I asked if I could have more time to look at the menu. I asked for house white, he gave us a more expensive bottle. I had a mix fish starter (very average and cold) and my partner ordered steak, a portion of potatoes and a salad for main. I said this would be enough, but he insisted I order a main. Okay so I did, it cost about 15€ for 5 very over cooked prawns. Then as he walked away he said "I'll bring focaccia". This was on the bill 4.5€, we didn't eat much of it but took it home out of principle. Oh and the steak was "ok". Really if we'd been left alone with the very nice young man who had originally served us, the food would still have been average, but we'd have spent alot less on it and not felt bullied or pressurised. Giuseppe need to let the perfectly competent waiters...

Sikule... A restaurant located adjacent to the most popular fish market in Catania.. You can't go wrong, right? Wrong my friend. The restaurant with the best tourist trap bait; lovely chairs and table setting, attractive umbrella sky feature, somewhat cool logo, but the most awful culinary experience to date.

I ordered the grilled octopus and my girlfriend the sea bass. We had such high expectations, but were left with sea bass that still had scales on, and a rubbery octopus with the beak still there. The octopus was inedible, I wouldn't even have given it to my dogs, and they eat literally anything. It was days old and I bet my eye sight, it was cooked in a microwave, and the chef didn't even care to give it 5 minutes in the mic because it still arrived half cold.

I would usually not complain but the waiter asked, so I voiced my concern in a polite manner, although visibly irritated. I shouldn't have bothered... After coming out of the toilets from washing my hands, I got circled by the manager, the self proclaimed "chef" and head waiter, and was told off. Proudly stated that's their way of cooking and denying my valid complaint. I walked away from them as we couldn't even agree to disagree, only to get approached again to try to get me to agree with them, as if I had no integrity. Paid the overpriced 90euro bill and left.

Do not do the same mistake I did, or do, I cannot tell you what to do.

(PS: not to be confused with Sikulo Restaurant which actually has good ratings and regret not trying that...

We arrived a bit late, around 30mins before the closure of the restaurant but it was our fault because we didn’t pay attention to that when looking in google maps, however, they still accepted to serve us. Although we didn’t have much time until their closing time, we ate a wonderful Sicilian appetizer to start and we also ordered the grilled tuna and mixed grilled fish. They brought us everything we asked for, basically closed the place and we got the place just for ourselves… the staff kept being super nice, friendly and smiley and not even once they tried us to feel like we should be in a rush (although we were simply for the common sense that they also deserve their rest time). The food was great, the fish was fresh and the staff nice until the last second. We highly recommend this place and once again want to thank to the staff of the restaurant for being so understandable and still serve us food so close to their closing time! (The appetizer was good enough to feed both of us - check attached picture). P.S: coperto was 5€ per person but definitely worth it!

This was our favourite restaurant when visiting Sicily!!! The waiters are incredibly kind, funny and attentive, and the food was also very good (and served nice and hot!). This all made us come back 3 times, even when we went to visit different cities. The 2nd and 3rd time we came back the waiters recognised us and gave us free dessert, even remembering we don't like alcohol in it. The last time they even gave us a discount on the bill. We want to give a special thank you to Fortunado, Amadi, Giovanni, Redi, the Gambian guy whose name we forgot to ask, and all the others who have all made our stay the absolute best. If we had to name one thing we would miss most about Sicily, it would be this restaurant and their waiters. Thank you 😊

We had such a good dinner here! We ordered pepata di cozze which was super fresh and delicious, pasta aglio olio e peperoncino a simple dish that they managed to turn into a delicacy and lastly the lobster pasta which was super tasty, with a generous amount of lobster meat and perfectly al dente The food was great, but what really left us with such a big impact was the kindness of the waiters and the owner Simona. They were there the whole night ready to help us with anything. I’m Sicilian but have lived in Singapore my whole life, and this is one place I’ll always come back to. Filled with energetic, loving people especially Agatino, such a funny, kind, and charismatic guy! Recommend to locals and tourists visiting Catania
