Sicily #5, Catania #5, Seafood #1: was recommended here by a friend. Scirocco is located just outside the fish market and has a pretty solid menu of food. We ordered: cartoccio di mare senza spine (boneless) €8, insalata di polpo 🐙 €8, and un bic di vino bianco €3,5; €1 servizio per ticket. The fried seafood cones are actually quite a lot of food. Different pieces are better than others. In conjunction with a salad (or really any other item), it's plenty of food for two. The octopus salad was very tasty, too. While each item was very good, it wasn't mind-blowing. I would, however, happily go back. The white wine they serve is quite good IMO (the brand is quite common all over Sicily). The various people working here when we visited were super friendly (and made a few jokes). It's fast casual as you order and then your name is called and/or food is delivered. After lunch, you can hit the fish market for some oysters and another glass of wine.

First thing we did when we arrived in Catania was to have brunch here. It overlooks the historical Catania fish market giving you a sort of live entertainment while you wait for your food. We had the mini seafood arancino, all were amazing but our favorite was the octopus filled one. We also had the “catch of the day” deep fried cone, ours had calamari, tiny shrimps (heh), a random giant crawfish looking thing, several sardines, & some tiny grouper looking fish. All were deep fried to perfection & you get unlimited lemon wedges. Drinks were on the pricier side compared to other places in the area but still not bad. Service was efficient & the restaurant staff’s vocal prowess (they scream your name when your order is ready) could easily compete with the yelling on the fish market below.

I have been to Sirocco Sicilian Fish Lab twice. First time, luckily I ordered Boneless cone with really tasty snack like mixed see food. Easy and joyful to eat. Second time I ordered Catch of the day and I was disappointed to get into that struggle of eating each fish in that cone. It is not everybody else's choice. I was in a messy situation while trying to clean and eat all those fish with small and thin bones. It was like whatever caught that day was put into fried oil and deeply fried. So long story short, just order Boneless cone and enjoy it. Apart from that, service is fast, guys are cool. At lunch time, place is very crowded so I preferred to get here late in the day.

A Must-Try in Catania! If you’re in Catania, Scirocco Fish Lab is a must! The food was super fresh, delicious, and reasonably priced, making it one of the best seafood spots we tried. The location, right in the heart of Catania’s fish market, adds to the whole experience with its authentic and picturesque vibe—you really feel the local atmosphere while enjoying amazing seafood. Everything we had was cooked perfectly, and the quality was top-notch. Whether you’re a seafood lover or just want to try something different, this place is totally worth it. Highly recommended! We’d definitely come back.

I'll start by saying that I'm not the biggest fun of fish or seafood, but even for me this food was delicious - I especially loved the sandwich with swordfish, but the mix of "boneless fish" was also really good. The place inside had an AC, which made this cute and cosy place even better! You can of course also sit outside and then have a view on the fish market (but when we got there, around 1 p.m., they were already almost all gone). And it's not that expensive, so it's a perfect lunch spot for a budget holiday, when you also want to try some typical local flavours.

Had octopus salad but was not impressed. It was cold and chewy. The fried sea food was better tho. However they did not had any fries or tatar sauce 🙄 Just bread - if u ask and pay for it. Prices are ok, but in Croatia it is twice cheaper and the quality is better. Here u do not get any fries or tatar sauce 🙄 Just bread. The one thing that we especially did not like was the african man who tried to do tourist scam with the bracelet on us. He should not be allowed to bother the patrons. 🤨 It is a waiters job to shoo those crooks away! Do something!!!
