Had a pizza and antipasto, just got a plate of salami and ham so nothing special, but really the pizza was the worst… just a big thick dough with no tomato sauce and melted mozzarella - please avoid! No wonder people then say they had the worst pizza in Italy! There’s so many better pizza places! Don’t get talked into visiting by a lady on the street! Drinks are okay (bottled beers can’t be that bad right?) but I don’t recommend eating anything. Lots of things to improve.

Authentic Sicilian trattoria with a great selection of gastronomy. Also good WiFi which seems difficult to find in Catania. The street it is on is also quiet quiet and feels distanced from the busy streets beyond. Great ambience. HOWEVER! Beware the service charge / tax of 2€ per person! It is in small print on the menu.

Food Poisoning and Bad to Below Average Food I don’t write a negative review about a place unless the experience has been very bad, thus, I think the fact that I’ve been up all night and day with food poisoning, constitutes as a good enough reason to warn future customers.

I visited this restaurant with my family. After a moment of sitting down to look at the menu, the owner/waiter took one of our menus and gave it to someone else.

When we told him we were ready to order, he stood there listening for half a second before he was distracted by passerbys and walked over to them to convince them to come into his restaurant. He came back and again whilst taking our order, took one of the menus we were looking at and gave it to someone else.

The food was below average, my mum got the €10 buffet (which allows you to fill the plate once). The food was cold, flavourless and underwhelming. The rest of the food we ordered was average.

Whilst customers ate outside, the very smug owner/waiter stood outside with another waiter and they rudely snickered together as they watched their guests. I felt uncomfortable and wanted to finish my plate as fast as I could so I could leave however my brother’s second course took a long while to come out.

To top it all off, I was awake all night with food poisoning after eating their minestrone, and I also haven’t been able to leave the house today.

You might want to give this...

This restaurant does not deserve to be in Sicily-a complete disappointment. Food is bad and more expensive than in other places. The bread served was hard. The food was served 10 minutes apart at our table. My partner’s tortellini....I make them better and I am not great at cooking! My pizza left much to be desired. I ordered mushrooms as an extra and I could literally count these on my hands. Besides, my pizza was so hard I could not even eat using cutlery! Advice to tourists-beware. Don’t let this restaurant spoil your Sicilian...

The Food was fantastic, and the service was wonderful! My card declined as I was paying, and after half an hour of trying to get it to work with my bank, I was told it was okay and that I should just leave. Even after offering all the cash I had left, they told me to keep it, because I might need it. I am very grateful for this generosity.

Thank you so much, I definitely recommend the great food, service and hospitality of this restaurant to anyone who finds...
